Receiver says headphone mode no sound

Check to see if the end of a headphone has been left in the headphone jack. If so, remove it. (Sometimes the break off and are left there).

If the jack is empty (the easiest way to tell is to insert headphones and see if they go in all the way), then open the receiver and see if you can disconnect the headphone jack. There is a sensor in the jack itself that senses when something is inserted. If it's stuck in the "closed" position it may think that headphones are inserted.

Other than that you may need to update the firmware or reset the thing back to factory defaults. There is usually a button on the back for this. Hold it in for a minute after you have unplugged it. Then plug it back in and test.

Denon avr 1700 hp/only. how do I turn headphones off only?? I reset but did no work. can I clear the memory by unplug power, fuses ect??

try plugging in headphones and unplugging them. the headphone jacks have a tendency to have a shorted contact in them that cause the unit to think there are headphone plugged in all the time. Only true fix is to replace the headphone jack, but pluggin and unplugging can temporarily clean the fault usually.

My i717 is stuck in headset mode

most likely you have the microswitch in the jack itself that is stuck or broken. Try pushing the headphone plug all the way in, and remiove it quickly a couple of times. If this does not work, you may need to bring it in for repair.

How do I set up music (radio from my pc) using headphones on my Nortel Networks phone, model #NTDU91? Is there a feature for that? Thank you

You should call in your local vendor and have this done.
They will need to install a jack that matches your headphone jack and punch it down to a certain pair on the phone system, they will also need to go into configuration programming and set the feature.
Config password and knowledge of wiring and programming required. Note you need to purchase a license to "re-broadcast" music on phone systems, paging equipment etc.

Fixed broken headphones but sound quality has plummeted

it sounds as if the wires are wired wrong . yes it is best to solder the wires.all jacks are the same, yours will be stereo i believe. is the braid attached to the earth point, the two other wires attach to the centre of the plug and the other terminal point. these are right and left.

Also remove the battery and any other removeable plates below the notebook to check for additional screws. Check if there are any rubberized "feet" or plugs covering access to still more screws. Keep screws and their locations organized in case they are different length.

Stylus tip stuck in headphone jack(no sound!)

Yes, here is a guide to dismantle an original Nintendo DS:

How to dismantle a Nintendo DS.

If yours is the NDS Lite, just find this video in youtube:

"Disassembling Nintendo DS Lite"

And after opening it you may need to replace or try to repair the audio plug. In case you cant, then you must take it out (desoldering it with the stuck stylus tip and the mute switch, which is embeded in the headphone jack) and you can have your audio back.
As the audio switch and the jack only work to mute the speakers audio usually when you plug a headphone then you can lack of it almost all times.
