These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. SOURCE: power lights keep blinking
The power light indicates a problem (usually) with an internal problem. Usually there is a pattern to the light. (for example 3 blinks then a pause, 3 blinks then a pause etc.)
A service tech can use the code to help determine the problem.

SOURCE: No power -- TV will not turn on
This could be the power supply baord / Bad Caps/ They will be puffed up..
Or if the inverter board is bad** Inverter board lights the backlights.
