Hi Angela:
You either have a leak in the coolant system or a bad head gasket. Check the oil. If it seems overfull and milky or has globs of water, look to the head gasket. Otherwise, look for a puddle under the parked vehicle. White vapour from the exhaust is another indicator. Seems I replied to this once before, did you do all of the checks suggested?

OK. We need some info to try to be able to help you. How long have you owned the car. How long has the problem been going on? How much coolant do you have to add and how often? How long since you had the oil changed?

SOURCE: Mercedes-Benz SLK55, what are the biggest problems

The biggest problem is the gearbox though - it simply isn't up to the job and ruins the fun at every opportunity. Try manually shifting up on the redline and instead of punching home the next gear the box dithers, sending you crashing into the rev limiter. This is one AMG that really should have had a manual, or an SMG style sequential box.

SOURCE: where is that fuel filter

Removal & Installation Two types of filters are used, depending on the vehicle. Both are located between the rear axle and the fuel tank.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Unscrew the cover box.

Fuel pump package cover

  1. Remove the gas cap, fuel pump cover and pressure hoses.
  2. Loosen the screws and remove the filter. Remove the connecting plug from the old filter and install it on a new filter using a new gasket.
To install:
  1. Install a new filter in the direction of flow. Always replace the copper gaskets.
  2. Replace the attaching screws.
  3. Install the pressure hoses, pump cover and gas cap. Torque the banjo fittings to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
  4. Install the fuel filter in the holder by positioning it in the center of the transparent holder. Be sure the plastic sleeve between the fuel filter and fuel pump is installed. Galvanic corrosion may occur in cases of direct contact between these components.
  5. Replace the cover box and check for proper sealing.

SOURCE: i need the mercedes benz 1999 clk 430 radio code

AR82.60-P-7502-01A Coding Radio
(MODEL all with CODE (750) Radio Becker Europa 2000 with CODE (751) Radio Becker Grand Prix 2000 with RDS)

  1. If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it is not operational when re-connected. After switching on the ignition and the radio, the readout CODE appears in the display.
  2. The code number for the radio is advised to you on the enclosed CODE CARD.
  3. To enter the first digit of the code number, you have to continue pressing station button 1 until the correct digit appears in the display. Adopt the same procedure for the second, third and fourth digits.
  4. Once you have entered the correct code number with the station buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 and confirmed the entry with the SEEK button (press down), the readout CODE disappears. The radio can now be operated.
  5. If you enter a wrong code three times, you must wait 15 minutes before making a new entry. In addition, if 9 incorrect entries are made, the radio will then not operate for 24 hours. During this time the radio and the ignition (terminal 15) must remain switched on.
AR82.60-P-7502-01B Coding Radio
(MODEL all with CODE (353) Audio 30 APS with CODE (510a) Radio MB Exquisit with traffic news decoder, with RDS (Becker) with CODE (512a) Radio MB Special with traffic news decoder, with RDS.)

  1. If the radio is disconnected from the power supply, it cannot be operated by simply reconnecting. After switching on the ignition and the radio the word "CODE" appears in the display on the radio.
  2. The code number for the radio is given on the enclosed CODE CARD.
  3. Enter the code number with the station button, e.g. number 1, station button 1. After entering the first number the word "CODE" disappears and the number entered appears followed by 4 dashes. The next character to be entered flashes. After entering all five numbers, the first character starts flashing again. In this state the code number can be written over as frequently as desired. A correction can be made only by entering the complete code number again.
  4. Confirm code number: Press TUNE, AUTO/SEEK or SC button. The radio automatically switches on and indicates the radio station or frequency stored with station button 1.
  5. If an incorrect code number is entered and confirmed, the word "CODE" appears again on the display. If an incorrect code is entered three times the word "WAIT" appears on the display and the radio locks up for approx. 10 min. If the code is entered incorrectly three times again the radio locks up again for 10 min. Three more incorrect entries (a total of 9 incorrect attempts) increase the lock-up time to 60 min. Another three incorrect entries lock up the radio for another 60 min. The waiting time runs only when the radio is switched on.

Exhaust smoke white

You could have a head gasket problem, Check your oil level and see if it's high and also check it for antifreeze. If there is antifreeze miked with your oil it would seam mikly and check your antifreeze level too if it's gone down. Good luck and keep in mind that antifreeze is corrosive the internal bearing in your engine.
