You will need to check your owner's manual for the mixture ratio. If you mix the fuel / oil richer than required you can damage the engine. The carburetor is adjusted for the proper mixture. The myth of running richer mixtures is better is wrong. This can lead to stuck rings, carbon build up and clogged exhaust ports.
Today's synthetic oils (the biggest difference over older products) lubricates better and mixes better. However, your engine needs to be tuned to run the proper mixture.

If you have a manual for it, it should tell in it or a label on the chainsaw.

The Stihl fuel mix ratio for all Stihl two stroke engines is 50:1. That is 50 parts gas to 1 part two stroke oil mix. This is the oil ratio that is recommended by the manufacturer. You may however use a thicker fuel mixture like 40:1 or 30:1, just be ready to change your spark plug more frequently. You will notice if you run a heavier gas to oil ratio the engine will smoke a bit. Don't be concerned it is simply the engine burning off the excess oil.

What kind oil is i fill in fuel tank

First you must know the proper fuel to oil ratio. I have seen saws run 50:1, 40:1, and 32:1. When you buy some 2 cycle oil there will be instructions on the container on how much oil you need to add per gallon of gas to get the ratio you saw needs. On some saws the ratio is listed on the fuel cap.

I have a Homelite UT 10846 chainsaw and need to know the oil to fuel ratio

50:1 fuel to oil ratio will work fine if the oil is a modern synthetic saw oil. Be sure to premix in it's own container and be sure to shake the container thoroughly each time just before filling the tank to prevent oil starvation. Hope this helps!

The oil fuel ratio tells how much fuel and oil must be mixed for your model of engine. Not all 2 stroke engines use the same ratio. The ratio is expressed as for example ( 30:1), this means 30 parts gasoline to 1 part oil. Most 2 cycle oils have the instruction on the container. YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE RECOMMENDATION IS FOR YOUR ENGINE.

Need to know the gas to oil ratio for my feather lite weedeater. Model FL21

"Echo Power Blend Universal 2-Stroke Oil can be used in all of our 2-cycle air-cooled equipment ever made. You may also use this oil in any other brand of 2-cycle air cooled equipment, but it should always be mixed at the 50:1 ratio whether or not it was a 32:1 or 16:1 etc. machine. This oil is the highest quality 2-cycle oil on the market today. There is no need to have more than 1 tank of fuel for your 2-cycle equipment any more."
The above excerpt is from the Echo FAQs (6) here:
http://www.echo-usa.com/faqs/

Oil Mix Ratio:
The following ratios have been recommended for the last 10-15 years.
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

Ineed to know what the fuel to oil ratio is for

Run 30:1 or 32:1. With modern synthetic oils, you could probably get along with 40:1 without trouble (and a lot less smoke). Good luck!

Need to know the gas:oil ratio for weedeater FL1500

100 ml of 2cycle oil to 4000 ml of fuel..Which is 40/1 ratio
100 ml of 2cycle oil to 5000 ml of fuel.. which is 50/1 ratio

4 o/z is 118.29411875006815 ml to 1 gallon of fuel (3.79 litres or 3790 ml) Which means 32/1 ratio...I find that to confusing,so it is easier to say 100 ml of oil to 3200 ml of fuel ===32/1.

I need to know the gas mixture ratio for a craftsman weedwacker

Hello mcguilmd:

>>All Two Stroke Engines will use a 50 to 1 Ratio using Today's Two Stroke Oils. I once had an Old Chainsaw probably from the 1950s, maybe Earlier 70s that had a sticker on it that said to use a 25 to 1 Fuel/Oil Ratio, but that would have been using Two Stroke Oils of the Time Period the Chainsaw was Manufactured. I was having a Problem with Oil Coming Out of the Muffler and Started Decreasing the Oil in the Gas. I Reduced the Oil Until it was a t a 45:1 Ratio and Decided to be Safe, I would Use a 40:1 Ratio Mix. In that Chainsaw I used 50 to 1 Ratio with no problems. Today's Two Stroke Oils compared to Yesteryears are more Efficient at Lubricating. It is like comparing Today's Synthetic Motor Oil to Motor Oils of Decades ago. All the Equipment I use in Landscaping, anything from a Weed Eater, Leaf Blower, Chainsaw, Hedge Trimmer, use 40 to 1 ratio, and I use all types of makes and models, Stihl, Homelite, Husqvarna, Shindaiwa, and Echo, Sears. I mix up a 5 Gallon Fuel can and use it in all of the Equipment for my Customers and for my Landscaping. I like my Fuel/Oil Ratio a Little Heavy, so I use a 40:1 Ratio. The Following was Copied and Pasted here from and MTD E-mail to me when I Asked for the OEMs Suggested Mixture for this Unit. The mixture, as described by the engine manufacturer, is a 50:1 ratio when using the approved types of 2-cycle engine oils.
50:1 ratio is a mix consisting of 2.5 ounces of 2-cycle oil per 1 gallon of gasoline.
The 2-cycle oil used should be approved and have one or more of the following specification titles: NMMA TC-WII, TC-W3, JASO FB, or JASO FC. NOTE: If unsure of the 2-cycle oil specifications, or the oil is not approved, use a 32:1 fuel to oil ratio. This ratio consists of 4 ounces of oil per one gallon of fuel.
NOTE: Always mix 2-cycle fuel oil and fuel in an approved gasoline safe container prior to filling the engine. Make sure to use a separate gas can for this 2-cycle fuel mixture and label it accordingly. Keep in mind that the fuel capacity of these engines normally is less than a gallon, therefore you will have to use this extra oil mixture for multiple fuel fills. Adding a fuel stabilizer will also help to increase the shelf life of fuel.
>>I Suggest Using a 40:1 Ratio and if Oil Starts Coming Out the Muffler then go to a 50:1 Ratio.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully
