My Ativa HD 1600 Shredder is stuck on the red light when I turn it on. A little help please?

Unplug it. Lift the shredder unit off the catch-bucket. Remove any paper caught in the blades. You may need needle-nose pliers to pull jammed paper out from between the cutters.

Reverse shredder and clean out as much paper shred as possible. Use some lube oil. Hairclipper oil and canola vegetable oil are good choices.

I could not find a manual or support on Ativa website but I searched their FAQ. It said that the shredder basket must be fully closed and integrated with the shredder. I had the same problem. I pushed the basket firmly into place and it stopped. I believe this flashing scheme may be telling you that the shredder and basket aren't properly aligned.

SOUNDS LIKE THE SENSOR OR SWITCH MAY HAVE TRASH ON IT.
LOCATE THESE ITEMS USUALLY ON LEADING EDGE CLEAN
SENSOR WITH A "Q" TIP AND ALCOHOL. IF THERE IS SWITCH CHECK
TO SEE THAT IT IS NOT JAMMED AND WORKING PROPERLY.

The RUN green light is on but no motor is operating for any function of the Ativa DQ 83Mn Shredder. What can be inop?

I have a Ativa MD 1000 that I just bought. It ran for a few minutes the first time I used it an then stopped. I turned it off and unplugged it in case it had overheated. The temperature light did not come on. I wait for over 30 minutes and tried using it again. I was able to shred a couple of sheets of paper and it stopped again. The next morning I couldn't get it to work at all. The green ready light is on but the shredder will not start. I can't tell if anything is stuck in it. How do I getting running?

On the right side of the waste basket(as you face it) is a tab that pushes a button on the shredder when it is in place. The tab is not making contact with the button. Push the side of the basket where the tab is when you have paper to shred in it. If it begins to shred, you may have to bend the basket inward so that the tab makes contact. I have had this problem.

ok " if the ready light did not come on it's telling you that there is no power sound like the plug in transformer is no good .

you can check that transformer , with a multimeter, see if you have the right voltage.
