Question about Apple Televison & Video

Open Question

WHY CAN'T I GET A TRANSMISSION OR HOOK UP BETWEEN MY SCOTT'S TV AND AN APPLE TV UNIT THROUGH THE HDMI PORT?

I AM UNABLE TO GET ANY PICTURE OR PROGRAMS/STATIONS FROM AN APPLE TV UNIT TO MY SCOTT'S TV THROUGH THE HDMI PORT. I HAVE TWO OTHER APPLE TV UNITS AND TV'S AND I GET PERFECT CONNECTION. I HAVE ALSO TRIED THE OTHER APPLE TV UNITS TO THE SCOTT TV AND STILL DOES NOT WORK. I TRIED THE APPLE TV UNIT THAT I USE ON THE SCOTT TV WITH THE OTHER TV'S AND I GET A PERFECT CONNECTION. THERE APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE HDMI PORT AS THE SCOTT TV WORKED FINE WHEN I USED CABLE TV. I NEVER USED THE HDMI PORT UNTIL RECENTLY WHEN TRYING TO HOOK UP WITH APPLE TV. THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE SETTING OF THE TV TO THE USE OF THE HDMI PORT, HOWEVER, I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, TRIED DIFFERENT CHANNELS, WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE MENU WITH THE SCOTT TV TO MAKE SURE I HAVE THE PROPER SETTINGS. CAN YOU HELP AS THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY?

SOURCE: Picture is snowy on every channel

If one tv looks good and another one dosent look good or operate correctly then we know for sure that the problem is not the antenna. Now the menu comes up ok because the menu is injected after the tuner into the video curcuit from a osd or microprocessor. sounds like you could have a defective tuner or antenna block assy.

SOURCE: Display not working

how down the power button until it beeps twice. that will restart your settings for the display. once it beeps twice then turn the system on and change the default settings back to your hdmi settings. what happened was when you transferred the ps3 to composite the settings changed to accomodate that but when you switch back to hdmi it doesnt change back. the only solution is to hold down the power button untill it beeps twice. normaly 3 seconds.

SOURCE: PS3 been working fine over

TV Connectivity
The issue of connectivity between the PS3 and the display is very complex and depends on the type of TV (Analog, Digital or HD Ready), the maker of TV (until recently, only Toshiba TVs have component AV connections as standard in Europe, most other Euro TV sets use SCART which can not carry an HD signal) and specification of TV (the very latest HD Ready TV sets have wider connectivity options than earlier HD "capable" TVs from the same manufacturer which may have lacked HDMI), and finally the configuration of the PS3 model purchased.

SOURCE: Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

My scott lcd hamy scott lcd tv has a hdmi port but i can't get it to work with anything any suggestions on what to do

Be sure to try another known good source in that HDMI port. If it still won't work, you may need to replace the Main pcb. that would be the printed circuit board with your input/output ports on it.

How do i connect my toshiba lap top to apple tv

The 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV's have a HDMI port. The 1st generation has Component and HDMI ports.

If your laptop has a HDMI port then just hook the two up. If not you will need an adapter. Your laptop most likely has a VGA port so a Google search such as this should help you find what you need.

The BT205 only has a HDMI Out so you need to connect both your BT205 and Apple TV to your TV either directly or through your splitter (depending how many HDMI Inputs your TV has).

You then need to connect either the Digital or Analogue Audio Port from your Apple TV to your BT205 and select the Audio Output from your BT205 as detailed on Page 27 of the manualat the link below.

http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z4e3b157ez3z2a0dbz656ez706466z21z3703f025f4fa80ffdb9e5a7957895ca96b778f45/tsn2/data/ALL/SCBT205/OI/812908/rqt9445-b.pdf

This will give you the picture from your Apple TV to your TV via the HDMI and the Apple TV sound to your BT205 via the Audio Port.

DVD hooked up to sony bravia tv: have dvd power on, but can not get any set up menus (or anything) from dvd to show on tv screen.Unable to set up remote as menu does not appear on tv screen.

Hook up the player with RGB (Red-Green-Blue or component) cables and try the picture. If everything works OK, then go to the menu and turn on the HDMI output and set the resolution (if needed).
Not every HDMI unit works with every HDMI TV. You may also have a bad HDMI cable. On a DVD recorder, you may have your HDMI cable connected to HDMI IN. You must use HDMI out.

Hi
It may just be possible that DVI signal does not convert to HDMI signal. So in theory this may not be possilbe for you to get a result with your present attempt. May i suggest connecting to the DVI port of the TV. i.e Mini Display to DVI.

I have my PS3 and TV hooked up to the HDMI ports. I have programmed the unit to show them under TV and DVD respectivly. When I change the source to TV or DVD, nothing shows up on my TV as expected

Sounds like you hooked them both up to HDMI input ports. Make sure that the PS3 is connected to an HDMI input port on the AVR-1508, and that the TV is connected to an HDMI output port (not an input).
