I need to know how much stone in tons I need to fill 8.5 acre at 1.5 ft depth

Stone is approximated at about 2700 lbs. per cu. yd.
An acre is 43560 sq. ft.
8.5 acres is 370260 sq. ft.
There 9 sq.ft. per sq. yd., thus there are 41140 sq. yds. in 8.5 acres.
A cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet (LxWxH).
Since you are only going to be at 1.5 feet, each square yard is equal to 1/2 cubic yard, so to figure the cubic yards divide sq.yds. by 2, thus you get 20570 cu. yds. of stone.

20570 x 2700 = 55539000 pounds. Divide by 2000 to get tons:
55539000/2000 = 27769.5 tons.

Area 40 ft long 4ft wide 5 inches deep how many sq yards needed

First step - convert everything to feet - 5" is 5/12 of a foot

40 x 4 x 5/12 = 66.6 cubic feet.

Since a cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet, there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard.

66.6 cubic feet / 27 cubic feet/cubic yard = 2.5 cubic yards.

Good luck.

How many cu yards to cover 196 sq ft to a depth of 2 1/2"

Hi Bob:
1 cubic yard is 3ft by 3 ft by 3 ft.
3 times 3 times 3 equals 27, so
1 cubic yard equals 27 cubic feet.
2 1/2 inches divided by 12 inches equals .2083333 feet
196 square feet times .208333 feet equals 40.83333 cubic feet
40.83333 cubic ft divided by 27 cubic ft equals 1.5123456 cu yards.

How many yds is in 35 sq.ft

two different measurements that are not compatible
there are 3 feet in a yard but to get sq feet you will need another measurement so that the two measurements can be multiplied together
for example 3 feet by 11.666 feet will give you 35 sq feet or in your question 1 yard by 3.88 yards = 35 sq feet or 3.88 sq yards or any number of combinations of dimensions

How do i convert 60 tons of ashpalt to square yards

AC is approx. 145 lbs per cubic ft.
there are 27 cubic ft in 1 cubic yard
60 tons x 2000 = 120000 divided by 145 = 827.58 cubic ft divided by 27 = 30.65 cubic yards

square yards would depend on thickness of AC.
you can take thickness x sq ft to get cubic ft

in concrete 1 cubic yard =
4 inch thickness = 81 sq ft or 9 sq yrds
6 inch thickness = 54 sq ft or 6 sq yards

200 yards to cubic feet than cubic feet to tons for chicken manure that's been composted

You say 200yds do you mean 200 sq yds or cubic yds? There are 9 cubic feet in a square yard 1ft deep and 27 cubic ft in a cubic yard. You will have to know and factor in the weight of 1 cubic ft of manure to get your tonnage. 2,000 lbs in a short ton.

In algebra formula,,,,carpeting cost $20.00 sq. yd you carpet a room that has a width of 15 ft, for $ 800.00 ,,what is the lenght of the room

Here is the Solution:

1. Convert 15 ft into yards. 1 yard = 3 feet
=> 15 ft = 5 yd

2. Find the area of the given room. The cost for given room is given, and cost for carpeting 1 sq. yd is given. So,
800/20 = 40 {i.e. 40 sq. yd (area of the given room)}

3. Now, Length * Width = Area
=> x * 5 = 40 [Taking Length = x yd]
=> x = 40/5
=> x = 8 yd
=> x = 8 * 3 ft
=> x = 24 ft

So, Length of the given room is 24 ft (8yd).

I hope this solved your problem (in time).
