Looks like a problem with your keyboard. Connect to your laptop and external USB Keyboard or a wireless keyboard - maybe afriend has one - and check if it writes correctly. If writing if fluid, without junping, you can be sure it's your keyboard and should change it. Even if there ar detailed tutorials how to do it, if you don't have experience disassembling laptops don't do it bacause you'll end taking it repair shop in pieces in a shoebox, look for more searching google using terms

My curser jumps all around the screen when I am typing, how do I make it stop

hi...

thats normal on many laptops... even on my Dell and Lenovo...

the trick is to disable the Trackpad when typing...

1) Click Fn + F3 keys together to disable the trackpad and then type
2) Click Fn + F3 keys together to re enable the trackpad and then type
3) Buy an external Keyboard and Mouse (Wireless one) and use them (I do the same)
4) if you have trackpad drivers & application installed then adjust the sensitivity of trackpad on it

Thanks,

While typing on Acer Aspire the typing jumps around constantly...why?

Most of the time disabling the tapping for the touchpad solves the problem. Go to settings and disable the tapping for the touchpad, not the touchpad itself, just the tapping.

While typing, the curser jumps to different places in the document that is being typed. It is like it has a mind of it's own. No other keys are hit when this happens.

Usually this is because you are touching the mouse pad. I turn mine off because of this issue, during longer typing sessions.

My MSi laptop curser types all over the place! WHY!

the qwerty keyboard onboard your laptop may be stuck from liquid spilled on it, and or you simply need a drivers update. start off by adding a backup qwerty keyboard that plugs in via usb to bipass the current issue at hand so you could trouble shoot the cause, to find a better solution, and or bringing it into a technician to replace the whole onboard qwerty keyboard on the laptop

While im typing, my curser skips back into the middle of my sentences, and i have to retype my whole sentence again...what is causing this to happen and how can i fix, thank you

if it is the same thing that happens to me you need to shut off your touchpad (mousepad) when you are typing as your fingers or palms cause the curser to jump if you touch it while typing

When typing the curser jumps to a different position

This is because you are touching the touch pad with your palms. when typing avoid contact with the mouse pad in your laptop. I hope this will help. Thanks.. Please rate this!!

Curser jumping to various parts od document

Go to the control panel and see if under the MOUSE icon if there is a way to turn off the touch pad so you can type and not be bothered with accidently touching the touchpad. You might also check the BIOS to see if you can turn the touchpad off. I have also had the same problem because I touch type and I share your frustration. The only solution I've found is to turn off the touchpad while typing and using an external mouse. This isn't an error of the PC because you want the touchpad to work when you touch it and it has no way of knowing if it is a "good" touch or a "bad" touch.

Good Luck.

Erratic curser, jumping

Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for mice and pointing devices, click the '+' sign and right click on your touchpad and select uninstall, do the same on the keyboard line and then restart the pc.

Both touchpad and keyboard will be reinstalled and then ready to use again as it should be back to normal

How can I stop my curser from jumping around whilst typing ?

Hello
Most probably because your 'Touch Pad Mouse' is touched by your palm (hand or something) while you are typing. Avoid contact with the mouse touch pad while typing.
Option 2:
If you have a centre moveable mouse on your laptop, start using it and disable the 'Touch pad mouse'
Best of luck!
