How do you clear everything on the typewriter, and set to "default" settings?

Switch the machine OFF. While holding down the Margin Release key switch the machine back ON.
The machine should start printing a pre-programmed "self-test."
Switch the machine back OFF...give it 5 seconds then back ON again and you are back to Factory settings.

If the spokes of the P/W are not damaged or getting tangled in the ribbons you probably have a broken P/W homing pawl. You need a tech.

Is there a 'reset' to factory default or a clear all settings/memory functions for this typewriter? Not sure what has been set, saved or activated. Would like to 'start over' if that is an option. Thank...

Switch the machine OFF.
While holding down the Margin-Release key, switch the power back ON....... The machine will begin to print a "self-test".
It will keep on printing the self-test until you switch the power back OFF. After only 1 line of self-test you can switch the machine OFF.
Wait 5 secs, switch the machine back on, and you will have cleared memory.

You can reset all functions to original settings by doing this simple self test.
1. Turn typewriter off
2. Hold down the margin release key.
3. While holding down margin release key, turn on typewriter.
4. release margin release key
typewriter will now begin to type on it's own.
5. Turn typewriter off and then on again
all settings will now be cleared.

Projection TV keeps shutting off

Good Day, checho3435;

Try this to help to narrow it down:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Day, big IRISH. back.gif
