Your description leads me to believe you have 2 thermostats. How long have you lived in the house? Did it work for you lately? Sometimes its just the door switch. If you have to remove it to change the filter or had it off for another reason hold the switch in by hand and try it. then check the door for correct channeling in the grooves provided and see if this is it.

the e2 error on your thermostat is a problem with the return temp sensor on your system, the only thing you can really do is call a company and replace it, you can't bypass it or remove it cause the system wont run properly

Hello,

the answer is yes. It will work. They are almost the same thing with slight difference.

You can go ahead and replace the old interface with the new style thermostat.

I wish you good luck.

Sounds to me like a bad damper or a bad zone panel. Turn tstat off and call for cooling on zone 2. Then see if your still getting cool air to zone 1.( where the main tstat is)

If the compressor is running, this is probably a defrost timer error. I am assuming this is a heat pump. I would turn it off and let it completely defrost, which will take awhile, maybe hours, if it is that cold. If it repeats, you will need to get an A/C tech out to trouble shoot. The biggest problem with heat pumps is that they don't work well when it is cold outside.

mode will be heat, cool, or automatic. cool will show a snow flake flashing. Heat will show a flame and auto will switch from heat or cool by itself. Usually the auto feature does not work well as one is unable to set the heat and air where they are comfortable on both

There is a capacitor connected to the motor on the compressor. If it fails, the motor won't start and the safety thermal cutoff will stop voltage at the motor terminals. There are fuses inside the power interrupt box on the side of the outside unit. One of them may have blown
