Depending on your laptops make and model, you'll have to search the manufactures website for the appropriate drivers. If you can still access the internet just do a google search, and make sure you are going to that manufacturers website, and not another site. (i.e. Dell web site for Dell computers, Asus website for Asus computers.)
In some cases the manufacturer will include some disks that contain the drivers and other software for situations just like this. If you have those you can put in the disc and install the drivers that way.

Another way is to download the drivers for your computer with another working computer connected to the internet, and save them to a USB stick, or disk. Insert the disk or USB stick into the computer you want to install the drivers to, and install normally.

Good luck!

I reloaded the software onto my laptop but it has left it with a large font and slow how can I wipe it and reload everything onto it?

Large Icon issue might be with the screen resolution.
You need to right click on desktop -> Properties->Settings tab-> and adust screen resolution to 1024x768. Then cllick on apply, now the Icon must be small. If you are unable to adjust the screen resolution, then the issue might be with you video driver. You can downloand the driver on the below link.

If you wish to restore your computer to previous date, then you need to follow below steps,
start->Accessories->System toos ->Syatem restore
then you need to follow the on screen insruction to restore to the previous date.

Note: This restore will restore only the appalication installed and not the files.
This restore depends upon the restore point created on your system,

Hope this will help you!!!

Need to reload my drivers

Hello

To reload your drivers you will have to reload the entire operating system and here is how to do so.

Back up all of your user files, because reloading the operating system will destroy all of your data. You can use an external hard drive, thumb drive or an online backup service to save your files.

Insert the restore CD that came with your computer, then restart your PC. The computer will automatically boot and begin the restoration. You will be asked to confirm the reformatting of your hard drive during the process. The restore CD will not only reload the operating system but all of the hardware drivers as well. (If you do not have the restore CD, contact your computer's manufacturer.)

Insert the operating system CD if you do not have access to a restore CD. Shut down the computer and restart it. The computer will boot from the CD, and when the operating system menu is displayed, you will have the option to reload the operating system files. If you take this approach, you might also need to reload the drivers for your hardware by going to each manufacturer's website and downloading a driver for each device.

I have an old IBM thinkpad that needs reprogramming..

You can use any Operating System disk (such as Linux, Windows, etc) to reload your laptop. The trick is you have to go to the IBM website (lenovo.com) and download the drivers for your system after loading the Operating System. For your laptop, it appears the ibm website is having an issue listing the drivers, but they just updated it last week so it should be up soon. I am sure if you look around the web you can find the important drivers like video, audio, and network card drivers and then by running windows update you should be able to find a bunch more. If you have an idea what Operating System you would like to use I can offer more specific support.

Good Luck,

Have you tried running a chkdsk /f from the command prompt? It sounds like you could have a driver issue or a memory issue. Chkdsk might solve the issue, might not.

If chkdsk doesn't work try removing unnecessary devices in safe mode under control panel/system/device manager. Do this 1 at a time and try booting then, if you successfully boot you know which device or device driver you need to repair.
