Need wiring diagram for a single phase brook motor n a broomwade compressor

I suggest you contact Brooks if they are still in business. If not there is lots of motor info on the net.

Traditional single phase motors are fairly straightforward and similar to each other. The main thing to watch out for is to have the start and run windings wired with the same polarity. If the polarity is reversed on either winding the motor will run backwards.

How do i rewire a broomwade 3 phase compressor 1970

Rewire for ?? High voltage motor wiring is L1-T1, L2-T2, L3-T3, T4-T7, T5-T8, T6-T9. Low voltage is L1-T1-T4, L2-T2-T5, L3-T3-T6. The motor protection overloads will need to be sized accordingly, to the motor's FLA ( full load amps) for the voltage used. The control needs to be looked at also, if there is a control transformer, the transformer needs to be wired or repaced for the new supply power voltage used.

What is the dwell on a 1956 235 6 cylinder

the dwell angle and the point gap are closely related and seldom alter unless the point cam is worn or the point rubbing block is worn To go back to 1956 I will have to open some old manuals to get the dwell so if you make a comment I will see what I can get for you. As you can appreciate the dwell angle is the degrees turned that allows maximum saturation of the coil to produce the hottest spark and that is why I mentioned that the point gap is critical to get the correct dwell.

Compressor fridge 1956 dead!

<grin> Not under warranty any more?
Compressors have changed some since that was built but they still do the same basic job; turn a gas into a liquid so that the circulating liquid can remove heat from the unit while expanding into a gas again.
The coolant current units use is also different but serves the same purpose so I would say your old friend can be repaired.
Compressors range from ~$120 to double that (+ coolant cost) and labor is unpredictable since we don't know where you live but it is about a two-hour job. I would guesstimate between $300-$400 US - if it is quoted at lower than that, even better.
If you are in the US, check your local Better Business Bureau website for an honest service company and if more than one is listed, I'd call to get a preliminary bid on the repair.
You might inspect the condition of the gasket since a hardened one that no longer fits flush can cost a couple of bucks a month for lost energy by running the compressor longer than should be necessary.
