Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Why would you replace capacitors in the first place? As an electronic repair engineer, I only replace capacitors when they are defect. And not because something is not working. It could be your power supply is defect, but there can be lots of other causes, like bad connection or broken cabling. It also can be possible the audio amplifier or the screen has a shortage driving the power supply in protection.
Leave repairs to people who know what they are doing. When you have replaced some things in the system, it could be the repair is extra expensive, because you caused more damage than you solved.
Consult a tech, it will save you money and lots of time.

Samsung LCD TV Model LN46A550P3FXZA sound is cutting in & out 1-2 second intervals

Your video and audio (sound) signals are generated on the main board. However, for those circuits to work properly, they have to have clean and accurate power from the power supply board. The power supply boards are notorious for bad capacitors. Has your power supply been recapped? Do you see any bulging tops of any of the capacitors? If you are not familiar with capacitors, just google bulging capacitors. There are plenty of pictures on the web to show you what they look like. It is possible that the main you have has a problem. I assume you order the same exact part #?

The t.v has sound but no picture for a while then it comes on

Sounds like a dieing capacitor or two on your main board. You could also check the capacitors on the power board, if there are two diferent power "outs" for sound, and backlight. When you first turn it on, when it has sound but no picture, shine a really bright flashlight against the screen. Is there an image there that's just not lit up? If there is, than it's simply a few capacitors on the power board. If there is NO image while there is still sound, than it may very well be your main board. It may also be the CCFL tube itself, (like the long tube lights you see in most offices) but CCFL issues are rare, and hardly ever worth replacing. (CCFL Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)

Either take it to a repair shop, or send it to the manufacturer unless your comfortable replacing a few components and are handy with a soldering iron.

Can you fix a power supply on a Sanyo,no sound,no picture

Sanyo TVs usually only have two boards in them , doing a visual inspection of the power supply capacitors usually reveals swollen or bulging capacitors.
If the capacitors look good, voltage checks would be needed to isolate the problem to either the main board or power supply. Check for 5 volts to the IR board (& or keyboard) , if five volts is present suspect the main board

Hp tv 52" model id5220 - fan runs continually while plug in but no picture or sound?

Hello,

The problem is caused by a bad capacitor on the main board of the television, that is why the fan continually rolls but there is no picture or sound.

The solution is for you to unplug your television and leave it for about 2 hours so the high voltage will dissipate, then you unscrew the television open and try to assess the main panel of the television and you will detect the bad capacitors then turn to the back of the board television and solder off the tip of the capacitor then replace it with a new one.

Then couple back the television together. After doing this, the television should be in good shape once again.

Take care and good luck

Tv turns on and i have sound just no picture

Hello,

The reason your television have sound but no pictures is because there is a problem with the t-com board of the television.

Once you can have the board fixed or replaced because mainly its a capacitor that got burnt on the board.

But replacing the board will do just fine.

Take care and good luck

It's not the x main. 90% of the time it's a y buffer that goes out. It's usually the top buffer. 3/4 of the time the buffer takes out the y main board too. You cannot just replace the y-main or buffer because it will just burn out the other within seconds. Also about 1/4 of the time it'll take out the top transformer on the power supply too. The solution? First disconnect the power to the y main board. turn on the television and check the voltages coming off of it. Careful it's high voltage 208V! Remember it's DC too. Then disconnect the buffers from the y main board. You can try powering the y-main up to see if the little LED lights up. This does not indicate it's working though but it'll tell you if it is possible to fix. The fixes for these boards is only for electronics guys. It usually involves replacing 1-3 capacitors and 1-4 FET's. Since a bad buffer can take out a good y main in seconds it's usually recommended that one replace all 3 boards at the same time. It's a $250 fix. How do I know all this? I've now repaired 5 of these televisions. I owned one and spent close to 600 repairing it. I bought misc parts and broken sets online for months before I had 2 different repair guys walk me through the process of repairing them. I had so much cash tied up in parts that I bought 3 more dead sets and repaired them to justify all my spending. I've never had an x board fail. I've had EVERY top buffer fail. I've had all but 1 y-mains fail. and 1 lower buffer fail. I've also had the y buffer fry it's top chip, blow a capacitor and FET on the y-main, and fry the top transformer on the power supply before my eyes. It only took 5 seconds. Replacement of the 3 y boards will almost always fix the sound but no picture problem. Hope this helps!
