One that has a scart socket at least.it is the RCA connectors that are usually missing off the newer sets.nearly all new are hdmi so if there are no scart sockets or RCA you will need to buy an RCA to hdmi convertor to use old equipment.....otherwise upgrade to a hard drive unit with DVD capability and transfer all you videos over.

Green tint on TV screen when playing DVD's or Videos 2nd problem and can't record anything

1: Hi i would recommend trying the recorder on a different tv to check if the problem continues. If the green tint is gone then its the tvs inputs. If it is still green then its the player or the cord. Try a different cord if the green tint is still there then the player has a problem.

2: Now for the VHS to DVD. There are general a lock out encoded on the VHS if it is a store bought movie. This is to protect the content on the VHS from piracy and that would case the DVD to be blank. The VHS to DVD are made for converting your home videos like family vacations and stuff you record your self and not for commercial movies like the ones you bye at the store. If you want to convert old VHS movies to DVD you would have to get another VHS player and another device in between the VHS player and the VHS to DVD recorder.

How do I record screen with freeware?

I used to record Skyrim gameplay with Fraps, it's a rather good one and its basic version is free.
I can also recommend the following open source tool to record screen. It's free of charge and there are no troubles occuring while using it.

Cannot copy video from JVC GZ-HD6 camcorder to DVD Recorder

If you can play the vision on your tv via an av connection you should be able to record it onto the recorder. the recorder can record anything thats being played on the tv even if the other device is connected to the tv via another av connection. try this & see if it works.

How to record stuff from from T.V to VCR cassete?

Firstly are you talking terrestrial TV or digital?
If you want to record from SAT or Cable connected via scart you will need to select the AV channel that device is connected to.
If you want to record through your Aerial make sure it is connected to the video first then out to the TV.
At this point you need to post more information about, how and what you are doing.
If you are putting your TV onto the channel you want to record and trying to record it, that is not the right way to do it, it IS possible but you dont want to do it that way.

Acts like it's reconrding, then won't play back. Plays back older tapes with difficulty

You have one of two problems my freind. One could be the CCD sensor or related circuits have a problem in it and most likly a bad capacitor or a CCD imager, or the shutter is bad and sticking. Unfortanatly you really cannot tell untill the unit is taken apart and bench yested. I found a few really reliable folks that will give you a free estamate as I have sent a few peeps to them in the past and with great results. Good Luck http://www.videoonerepair.com/ Or http://www.videotech.com/ http://www.camcorderrepair.com/
