H2 error on ODU display

Check the links to talk to a technician or service. I find no easy access to matching a sheet of error codes with your carrier VRF on the web. I encounter codes but the sheets fail to identify the models! Those codes refer to a decrease malfunction which defies interpretation by any but an air conditioning technician. So, the most direct route to your query answer is at the above link.

The main thermistor reading does not reach 40ºC 14 sec after the fixing
heater goes ON. (fixing low temperature error).

First you need to try reset the error code and the procedure for that is:

SERVICE MODE entry: MENU and #

If E000 through E004 is indicated, the RAM on the image processor will
retain the error memory of the fixing assembly after the power switch has
been turned off an then on. Execute the following in service mode, and turn
off and then on the power switch to clear the memory: #7 PRINTER>#4

If the error is still present after clearing, you need to dismantle fixing unit and check with universal voltmeter the lamp, by putting the DVM to buzzer mode and each ends of dvm probes put on ends of lamp, if it buzzs that means that there is connection and lamp is OK, so you need to focuse on thermistors and thermofuses or ... call service.

Hope that helps!

Can you tell me what fault code E2 on a Hotpoint dryer 9344 means please? It seems as if the heater works for a while but then I think it cuts out and I cannot decide whether to call the repairman or...

To my knowledge, on most brands/models, an E2 error code indicates a a "thermistor failure" This could be indicative that the temperature is too high (which I am assuming is not the case) or the temperature sensor is defective, more specifically shorted (the continuity test reads below 500 ohms).You would need a continuity tester (DVM) to verify this. Should you find it useful, the standard resistance measurements are:
  • 60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms;
  • 70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms;
  • 80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms;
  • a reading greater than 50K would indicate an open thermistor and would display error code E1.
This of course would require opening the unit, replacing the aforementioned part (if tested bad), a fair knowledge of electrical/electronic components and circuitry as said, use of a DVM and safe working practices. If you are uncomfortable with w DIY (do-it-yourself, then perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
