the reverse pedal does not extend above the floor plate very much, when new it was about 2" and now is only about 1/2-3/4". Can these pedals slip and if so how can they be realigned?

It is not that it runs slow, it does not want to go back at all or with very little power. Any incline or hinderence stops it.

the tractor will barely move in reverse. Not just slow, but no power.
