If you are using the ADF ( automatic document feed ) for your copies, raise the scanner cover and clean the strip window to the left of the main platen. If you are using the platen for copies and getting lines where scans are clean - you have a physical issue and it should be checked out by a technician.

I have a lexmark x364dn. It has a line through the copies I make. I can print and scan and it is fine. The line is just on copies

Assuming the COPY uses a automatic document feeder. The doc feeder scans doc by passing doc over a narrow window. If there is a dot or several dots in the narrow window, it / they will show up on copies as a line.
Clean the window (looks like a long glass window about 1 inch wide ) carefully with a SLIGHTLY damp towel. Should get rid of the lines.

A line appears down the length of the page on all copies, printing and scanning. How do I get rid of the line?

All you need to do is clean the top feeder which opens into two parts. make sure you clean the black rollers as well as the small strip of glass you will find when you open the second part of the top feeder . don't be afraid to pull open the top feeder it won't break

Black line vertically on scanned/printed documents

This problem can be caused by a number of different issues. If it occurs when you copy, check the scanning glass to see if there is any dust/gunk on the scanner glass. Also if you machine has a document feeder than you need to check the **** glass that the paper feeds past.

If it occurs when you print than you probably need to clean your printer. Check your manual for exact details on how to clean your printer but in general it could be on a paper feed roller or it maybe something on the drum. If you let me know what printer this is happening on I can direct you to a manual if needed.

Facing copying problem from scanning section

Although you didn't specify the scanner model, this solution should work.

If the scanner has a top feeder, open it.

You will see a thin strip of glass, either to the left, or right of the large scanner glass.

There is most likely a small spec of ink, white out, etc on it.

Clean the strip glass with rubbing alcohol and the line should go away.

Black lines

Not sure what you have tried but if there are no lines when printing but there when scanning there is something on the scanner. Could be something as small a single dot of dirt and it will put a line down the whole page. Try cleaning the glass.
