I would try restarting the printer, as it is possible that the network address the printer has is now different than the modem

Restart the printer and have it reconnect to the wireless access point. Then, restart your Mac - cold boot. Then, have the Mac look for the printer again.

This is one of the common connectivity issues marring the benefits of having a wireless printer. In this situation your printer will not print when connected wirelessly but would need you to set it up with your system using a USB cable. Try resetting the IP of your system to what is mentioned in the printer and in case there is a router connecting your printer and system then use the IP address of router and put it in your system. LP2844 printer only prints after reboot

not yet sure if this is a permanent soln- but i was having the same problem with my wirelessly networked HP L7780. it would queue jobs, but show the printer as offline and only print queued jobs during a reboot.
i went to the printer properties (as detailed by PABLOCSA) and _unchecked_ SNMP Status Enabled (as suggested on another forum). doing so immediatly started printing spooled jobs... but i'm not yet sure if this is a long term fix.

Brother mfc is offline -

For my MFC, my PC says its ready and working properly. It really only works when I'm not connected to my cable modem. All PCs use it then. It's offline otherwise.

How to switch from "offline" status to "online" status

Hi,

I had the same problem with a Brother MFC-6490CW AIO printer. Here is how I resolved it:

Open the printers folder.
Right-click on the Brother printer and display the Properties page
Select the Ports tab.

In my system (Vista Premium), the selected port was a WSD port (whatever that means). Further down the list, there was a TCP/IP port that was obviously created by the Brother installation software. I selected the Brother-created TCP/IP port (which deselected the WSD port), applied the changes, and suddenly my printer was online. No idea what the difference between these two ports is, but I'll stick with the TCP/IP port until further notice.
