What does it say in your user manual? If the manufacturer want the battery charged before use, it will be stated in the manual or the setup guide.

The general rule is charge the battery before using. I do to ensure I do not create a memory in the battery.

Why is my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" charging very slow.

There are a several reasons why the Galaxy Note 10.1 is not charging as much.
1. Too many application are turned on (check the task manager)
2. Too many notifications icon are turned on ( bluetooth, gps, wifi, etc.)
3. Plugging your charger using a computer

Are you using the original charger and plugging it into a wall charger?

How long did you use the Note 10.1 previous to noticing the damage? and was it extremely hot at the back?

If so, then maybe the battery isn't picking up from the charger. I've watched back to back movies while still using the charger but this can prove very devastating on the charger's outlet which became extremely hot after 4-5 hours or so of charging continuously. It turns out, the galaxy note 10.1 can withstand 8+ hours of ongoing movies but the charger outlet cannot. *If I didn't unplug it after 4-5 hours, the plug what have fried.

In this case, i believe the charger is more likely damaged than the Galaxy Note 10.1, which is more of a better scenario. Especially, since you charged it for over 24 hours, meaning it's charging something, but very slowly. Operating Galaxy Note while charging can prove detrimental in the charger's outlet and can in fact burn out.

I hope this info is helful,

Battery manufacturing can vary, along with review circumstances. Your battery may need to be reconditioned (Drained the battery to empty, charge to full, drain to empty, repeat) so that it can use it's full potential. There is also the chance though, that your battery is just in poor health due to overuse or manufacturing defect. If reconditioning is no help, then call Samsung and complain that your battery isn't lasting as long as it should be, and they may send you a new battery.

Dell Inspiron E1505 won't recognize new battery

It won't charge or work correctly if it's not the correct one and of the right voltage etc.I don't know how the battery even went in if it's not the Dell specified battery. If it went in and looked to fit maybe the battery itself is bad but its hard to say.

Samsung omnia problem trying to charge battery

It looks like battery is damaged... When plugged in to charger phone shouldn't power on. Try put it on charger when on and see if charging icon appear. (top right corner-battery status icon should change -insted of battery to charging.) Battery is fully charged after cca 4 hours, 80% after 2 hours.

The battery is faulty or needs replacing. All rechargable batteries lose their efficiency over time meaning that they hold charge for less time. It sounds like your battery is either at the end of it's life or has a fault. If the phone is less than 12 months old, it's worth contacting the seller or manufacturer to ask for a replacement

I have a Olympus C8080 digital camera that won't start up? It has a brand new battery, which I purchased because the old battery was over 4 years old, and because it took a charge in about 5 minutes, but...

Are you using a genuine Olympus BLM-1 or a cheap "compatible" battery. It's possible that the original fault was caused by a worn out battery, but if you've bought a cheap compatible from places like eBay or Amazon then they're often very poor quality and frequently not of the stated charge capacity. Sometimes they're not even lithium batteries so your charger and camera won't work properly with them They're often so cheap that there is no effective quality control so your new battery may well be a faulty one. There is no way that the new battery would have been fully charged after just eight minutes: although they're usually supplied with a partial charge it's nowhere near a full charge.

Another possibility is that your Olympus BCM-2 charger is faulty.

Worst of all, you may simply have been sold a pup. If the eBay seller described the camera as being in good working order then I suggest you ask for a refund and return the camera. Although private sales are "as seen" they also have to meet the sellers description. If the seller won't play ball then you may be able to claim PayPal buyer protection if you used it to pay the seller.

Your camera is a five year old model now and way outside the warranty, in the UK perfectly good used examples sell for around £125 and this is likely to be less than the likely cost of any repairs if you send it to Olympus. You'll need to carefully weigh up what you've paid so far, what you're likely to have to additionally buy just to diagnose the fault correctly and what you can get if you just cut your losses and sell the camera as is.
