Wont drain. cant hear the pump at all.

it would be cheaper to replace the d/w than to replace the drain pump. btu parts may be cheaper where yo live. but the pump is easy to change remove th drain hose from the bottom of the d/w then the plug that is attached to that unit and finaly the black rubber hose .write down model number and take the pump to the appliance store then reverse those steps. ps shop vac out any standing water and turn off power to d/w before service

Drain pipe in maytag washer lav3600aww

Best I remember there are two hoses that make up the drain, one goes from the tub to the pump the other goes from the pump to the house drain. You should have got a 6-8 foot section of corrigated drain pipe, this goes to the house, bends around on one end and into the house drain. the other end goes to the machine, you may have to lay down to attach it, I cant remember which side that pump is on, but it should be easily identified

When it hits the final spin it makes a cruching noise and will not drain

Sounds like you have a bad drain pump. Usually the impeller will break off the pump shaft and spin freely inside the pump causing the noise. You will need to remove the pump and feel inside and see if the impeller is broken. Be sure to have a shop vac handy to drain the water from the unit before removing hoses. If its a frontload remember there is alot of standing water in between the tubs. Good Luck.

When it goes through rinse cycle and starts to pump water out of the machine, the drain pipe fills up and overflows, then it will rapidly drain.

Usually there is a clog or restriction in the stand pipe(drain pipe) causing water to not drain away.....Suggest drain-O products.
If you have a very long drain or the stand pipe is not above the water level in the tub you will want some type of air gap to prevent siphoning.(siphon break kit)

good luck

Running water

Sounds like your stand-pipe has fell over, located behind machine that the drain hose goes into. This pipe must be vertical, and secure. The top of the washers drain hose loop that goes into the stand-pipe, should be as high as your soap dispenser. If this is not the problem then your water pump must be pumping the water out all the time. Can you hear the pump? If so, some faults can force the washing machine into a constant cycle of filling with cold water and pumping the water away if it thinks the washing machine is overheating (possible faulty thermistor).Hopefully its only your stand-pipe causing the loss of water.Lets know how you get on.Good luck.
