Check and run the alignment section program for the printer
if you go into printer devices (properties)and look around the tabs you should find it there

Hi Ashley
try printing a "nozzle check" and if any colour stripes look incomplete, "clean" or "deep clean" the printhead until you get a good result. You can find the cleaning and test utilities on "Maintenance" page in "Printer properties". Also make sure you're putting the paper in right way up.

The print is readable but blurred, looks smudged and prints pictures blurred too.

Align the print cartridges after installing them to improve print quality. To do this:

1. Load plain paper.

2. Open the Lexmark Solution Center.

3. From the Maintenance tab, click Align to fix blurry edges.

4. Click Print.

Hope that helps.

Loftware labels printing off staggered.

Most reasons for this is a slight adjustment problem with page length. You can recalibrate the printer via the menu system, doing it this way will adjust the sensors with new settings

Prints in staggered columns

What you describe is typically caused by ink aerosol building up on the encoder strip, a thin band of plastic that the printer uses to keep track of its location.

You can gently clean the encoder strip as shown at HP's website here. Be sure to heed to cautions and notes. Do not use any solvents other than water and be gentle to avoid damaging the encoder.

BLURRY PRINT OUTPUT

The head probably needs aligning.

An interum fix is to turn off bi directional printing in the preferences.

This could possibly solve the problem.

Fuzzy page continious.

Yeah I just read a tip. There seems to be a problem with the wave amp board, I will send you the engineering note. Sometimes though that encoder needs replaced and cleaning is not the total fix. The encoder may need replaced, but I found this also.

I just received this, this morning.

Failed Wave Amp
Solution: thumbsup.gif Fixed! thumbsdn.gif Did not fix. Historically blurry print was caused by oil on the drum encoder wheel. This can be caused by the wave amp board. A cracked capacitor on the board causes the wave amp to produce a malformed amplified wave signal to the printhead. This in turn causes the printhead to eject ink at the wrong times, so the prints look blurry.

You can generally distinguish a wave amp problem from an oily drum encoder. The wave amp problem will usually be an infant failure. The printer will start producing blurry prints soon after it is installed and running. With a failed wave amp all prints will be blurry with no improvement. The drum encoder, on the other hand, may produce good prints and then bad prints and then good prints. Blurriness changes depending on how the oil is interfering with the encoder.

Intermitent fuzzy printing

What is happening is your print head is moving slow. The most likely cause is that the print head block is getting sticky from some ink seeping into it.
2 things you need to do.
1. Remove, ( looking from the front) the left cover. In the middle of the machine, near the bottom, you will see a square block, made of stainless steel ( silver), about 1 inch square. That needs to be cleaned so that the print head gets into print position.
2. Remove the left and right covers, and the ink loader ( where you load the ink sticks) and be sure the cables to the print head are not to tight.
Exactly what is happening, is the print head is stopping just short of faulting out, and to far away from the drum to make a clear image. When it stops out to far, the ink spray is scattered out causine that blurry look. Ok ok, it looks like what a page would look like to me, about midnight on Friday or Saturday night. Wellllllllllllllllll midnight would probably be a bit late, maybe about 7 PM on Friday or Saturday LOL.
But one of those 2 things is 99.999999999999 precent the likely culprit. Have a great weekend, and if your prints are blurred 1 AM tomorrow morning, Please don't blame the printer LOL......
Let me know if you need more info ok?
