Question about SkyCaddie GPS
Skycaddie not found when attempting to sync
This is as a result of the firewall blocking your device from connecting to you computer
To solve this you will have to add caddiesync as an exception on your firewall
To do so,do the following
From System Preferences, select Security > Firewall
If your Firewall is set to ON, select "Advanced"
You will see a list of incoming connections you are allowing. Select plus (+) to add Caddie-sync
From the list, select "CaddieSync for Mac"
You should see CaddieSync for Mac in the list of incoming connections. Make sure it says "Accept Incoming Connections" beside that item.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

plug in your connection cable to the back of the skycaddie with the cord going down towards the battery, not up. This should fix the USB recognition issue.

Well first of all try to reset your GPS receiver, just go into the main menu/settings and then select the reset option..... (note. resetting the GPS will erase all the data from your GPS and set all the settings to the factory default). after resetting the GPS again try to sync. it. please post some comment if further you have the same problem.....

Ran into this problem last night. Was trying to update software on Skycaddie. According to computer, everything finished. However, my skycaddie was displaying UPDATE PROGRAM VER 00.13 (B) Ready to Begin. Tried to reload last application as stated in earlier post. PC could not fine skycaddie.
Gave up and called customer service this morning. Only took a few minutes to get a live rep on the phone. He e-mailed me a link to execute that allowed him access to my computer. He tried to reload the last application as well, same result. He then ran an update program via a website, program found my skycaddie and was successfully updated. Whole process took less than five minutes.
I was fearing having to send my unit in for repair.

perform a soft reset. hold power and joystick for 8 seconds. it will turn off. now turn on. if boots up correctly, then ok. if not, then perform hard reset. push the information button (i) and flag button at same time. while both buttons are pressed turn on power. you should be in recovery mode. if so, re-sync.

Do you use Windows or Mac as operating system?
Anyway, basically the procedure is almost the same for the both:
# you cannot sync the device because the firewall doesn't let you to do so. So you have to add this SkyCaddie as an EXCEPTION.
1. check the firewall icon in your toolbar
2. double-click on it to open the main window
3. in SETTINGS (or similar name) check ADD EXCEPTION
4. open ADD EXCEPTION and click on a "+" sign or on "ADD..."
5. go in the list of software and pick up your device
don't forget to RATE if you've liked it...!
