Your ballast has gone bad, you can buy the part on ebay for around $70 I know this from experience as I repair tvs for a living, you would have to pull the whole assembly out where the bulb is and replace the board that has the wires that go to the bulb

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-62525 yellow blinking status light

Check that the lamp door is closed all the way. There is a saftey switch that closes from the door being on all the way. If not the status light will keep blinking. There is also a switch on the air filter door.

SOURCE: Blinking Yellow light on a HD 65" DLP Toshiba TV

I have a 56 inch tohiba DLP (56 HM 195). Replaced the bulb for the second time this year. last time only lasted 3 months. TV is tough to turn on. When I get it to turn on, and then shut it down, the yellow light blinks constantly for 5-7 mintues. Then it shuts down completely. Is the set overheating? There is nothing in the manual that speaks to this issue. thank you

SOURCE: power light flashed red 4 times then repeats no pic,new bulb/fan!

Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.

SOURCE: Red Light Flashes twice KDF-E50A10

I just went through the same problem. I replaced the bulb myself and when i put it back together it turns on then goes out. I had 3 red lights. i checked the trap door and the lamp assembly many times and it wasn't that. I finally took it to a repair place and they told me it was a power supply issue. $200.00 total to fix. Works fine now.
Hope this helps a little...

How do i determine if my ballast board or capacitor is bad in my toshiba hd tv model no 57HM167?

The chances of the ballast failing are small on this model. Count how many times the Yellow light flashes before it pauses. Then google 57HM167 and the amount of blinks. ie " 57HM167 Yellow light flashes 3 times" That will tell you what you need to know. You can also post it here and we can help. I suspect you have a stuck fan(the fans are monitored to see if they are spinning. If not, they will not allow the TV to start up). Or you have the cover for the lamp not installed all the way. There is a switch that the lamp cover activates and the the TV will not turn on without it secured.

3. Error Code Operational Check

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down" and not have been switched Off, to perform the Error Code Operational

Check. When the TV is switched Off, the code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

Pressing the front panel "DEVICE" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,

activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem

has occured since the last Initalization.

Note: The front panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash three times.

Tries to power up twice, then 3 blinking lights on tv. bought an aftermarket bulb and still does the same thing

hi if the bulb did not work then there is something else wrong with your tv. Something else is not turning on the bulb my first guess would be your backlight inverter.

You can get get parts for this tv at www.interliquidparts.com

H ave a sony kdfe60a20, just replased bulb and fan for bulb, watched for about 2 hours then tv went dark. Now I have a blinking red light. blinks 4 times pause 4 times continuously until I unplug the tv....

Hi,
4 times red standby light indicates problem with exhaust fan that is not running for some reason.
Recheck fan that you replaced and make sure its connector is plugged properly and it running freely.
4 times red light blinking is fan error in this tv.
Thanks.

TV doesn't turn on

You really should give make & model number when posting, it helps us immensely, your lamp and possibly the ballast is bad, start with a new lamp first, odds are very good that it will fix your problem, can`t help more without manufacturer and model number, good luck, ps, order the original lamp, generics are junk and a waste of your money.
