Moreover most convenience foods are high in fats, preservative and additive content rather nutritional values.

Is ketchup actually good for you? This is an argument that we have been having in our family for years and no one can agree.


This question depends who you ask because there are aspects of ketchup that are both positive and negative:

The pros:

Ketchup is a low calorie sauce compared to some other condiments. It contains tomatoes which are cooked. They are thought to contain an anti oxidant which could help lower the risk of heart disease.

The cons:

Ketchup contains both salt and sugar as some of its main ingredients and if you use quite a lot of ketchup with your food it can be unhealthy.

In addition, many companies now add corn syrup and flavorings to the recipe.

In summary - ketchup is delicious and certainly not bad for you like some foods but eat it in moderation.

Food Service Establishment Classifications

Class I: is a food service establishment with commercially prepackaged foods and/or hot or cold beverages only. No preparation, cooking or hot holding of potentially hazardous foods is included except that commercially precooked foods may be heated and served in the original package within four (4) hours.
