Why doesn't my clock work when plugged in again?

When I went away for several weeks, I unplugged my clock, which had been working perfectly. When I returned home and plugged it in again it was totally dead. Why? I even replaced the batteries, but what could have caused it to die after I'd unplugged it?

SOURCE: radio turns on and off by itself

I assume you checked to verify that the alarm switches were set to OFF? If so I would say it is of similar quality to the pieces of the one I am looking at (new?) where the radio doesn't come on at all! ;)

SOURCE: W850i red light prob

When it is red light of death, it either means the bootloader of the phone is faulty (after uploading dodgy firmware updates), or the battery is too empty to start-up, let alone display charging progress. In your case you need to leave the phone charging even with the red light flashing and it will be fine. Give it a few hours connected to the charger.

SOURCE: Emerson SmartSet Dual Alarm Clock Radio Won't Stop "Flickering"

Problem was solved. When clock was plugged in after a few more days, it finally stopped flickering and reported an incorrect time and day. Low battery was now blinking! Checked calendar and found all memory was lost. Purchased and installed a new battery and this time when clock was plugged in it correctly set itself! Fixed.

what is the model number?
Here is a little trick to try first. Get an alarm clock that has a LED display. Plug it into the same outlet as the refrigerator and leave it over night. In the morning, check to see if the clock is flashing. Post back the results.

Sharp Carousel Model R-209KK-W is flashing all 8's and keypad not working

The first thing to try is to do a hard reset.

Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes.

If it still doesn't work, it may need repair, which can be done for $39.95 in most cases.

Last week the tv started having these vertical dashes all over the screen. Three days later, they went away for the whole day, having a perfect picture. The next day, the dashes were back, then went away...

Since it is not mentioned what the model number is of the set I can only guess that it is a DLP type. So if it is a DLP you have a light engine going bad. Check the model number and do a google search for price and availability. It is rather an extensive procedure to change the light engine, but most of them unplug and plug back up...just have to get all the plugs back properly. And the part is rather expensive as well.

I bought the amp a few weeks ago and it worked perfectly for a couple of days and then for some reason the controlls just froze. the tap tempo light went out and the channel control light stayed the same...

Exercise your warranty IMMEDIATELY since you just bought it! If you bought this used, you LIKELY bought someone else's problem. The problem is likely in the digital effects area... probably a bad cable contact... but if under warranty DO NOT mess with it... return it for replacement or repair.

When power went off and then came back on, screen on micro wave continually shows demo and I cannot set time

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes and try again.

If it still won't work, then you may have a bad membrane keypad / DP circuit.

Projection does not work. Light is on, not bright enough to project

Mine did the same. Just unplug it from the power and remove the battery inside the back cover for a few seconds. Put it back together and plug it in! It will work perfectly. It works until the power goes out again and you have to do it again.

Emerson Microwave

Did you unplug it for several minutes and them plug it back in?

If that dosn't resolve your problem, it sounds to me like the microprocessor controller board has failed and will need to be replaced.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!

Movies on my recorded discs freeze after a few minutes of play

Sometimes this unit gets "confused" - not sure why -- but try first using a CD cleaning disk and let it start and stop a couple times (sometimes lens gets dirty and does this) - if that doesn't help then try unplugging unit and leave unplugged (from wall socket) for about 30min then plug in, set local time and then see if the disks play okay - sometimes this "resets system"
