I would go for the sensor first. It is in the easy to afforde range and easy to install along with more sucpeteable to falure. If that dosen't help then you can still try the board.

SOURCE: have pentair easy touch controls just installed

If the Easy Touch is reading the correct temperature, but the heater is not - you need to double check the temperature of the pool water with a standard pool thermometer.
Other things to consider:
1) The water is traveling too slowly through the heater. If the water is heating too quickly, then it will shut it off. If it takes a while for this to occur, then this would not be the issue.
2) Thermostat/thermistor is incorrectly reading the temperature of the water prematurely shutting the system down.
Make sure you really are checking the temperature of the water and matching this temperature up with one of the two readings that you are getting. Don't just take the word of the displays on either unit.

Error code E05 can be caused by many failures in several places. The owner's manual has a decent flow chart in it to help diagnose where the trouble lies. You will find it on page 43 here...

I have a hoover vhd 9163zd with error code E05,what component does it refer to being at fault, where is the component located

Error Code 05 is a NTC fault, either open circuit or shorted.
If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, the "E05" error code will be displayed.

Possible Causes / Procedure:
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check the water temperature sensor. Check connections to the water temperature sensor.
3. Check resistance of heating element, if present on this model. (abnormal = infinity).

Replace failed component. It could be the sensor or the temperature control module (NTC module).

Good luck.

Fault Codes

This code is shorted temp sensor, element 2, which is the left rear.

Action:
1) Check all heater, sensor and wire harness connectors. Make sure they are tight and secure. Check heater ribbon for possible damage.
2) Remove sensor connector (for left rear in this case) from logic board and measure RTD resistance. Should be 1030-1150ohms. If not, replace heater element assembly (~$130 for part)
3) if fault persists, replace logic board.

See my other entry as how to open the unit and do the replacement of the heater element.

Note: this error code 1X4 (where X in the number of the burner) is similar to 1X3 which is "open temp sensor"; they are dealt with in the same way. Both can be due to damage but I would suspect that, unlike 1X3 codes, 1X4 codes are less likely to be due to simple wear.

Canon ir2870 eror code e000007-0000 solution

The code has something to do with the fuser heating element which is not getting the correct temp or the film has shifted to one side and the sensor is not seeing the white square on the film. Take out the fixing assy and check the film. The cleaning roller built up with the toner on the fixing assy can also cause problems.

I have a hoover wmh148df washing machine which keeps coming up with fault code E05 can anyone help me find out what this is

Hello there,
E05 is a temperature sensor fault. Now there are a few things to check before replacing the sensor. Remove the back panel on the washer. There is a heater on the bottom. On the side is a circular sensor with a couple wires attached to it.
First make sure all wires are connected.
Try tracing wires to board to make sure they are not cut or disconnected along the way.
If wires are good remove sensor and check for scaling on surface.
If scaling is present clean the sensor then put it back on and try a load. If problem persists you will need to replace the sensor.
Now sometimes the main board can cause this.
If all else fails replace the board.

Master temp 400 with E05 error message, already replaced stack flue sensor, thermistor, and igniter. Any suggestions?

I have the same exact problem with this unit. Obviously getting gas to the unit, because it runs and pumps out some serious heat for a short time, but then kicks off. Did anyone ever figure this out or did you buy a new heater? :-)

Check temp setting and also room sensor. Setting must be minimum 3 degree more than room temp. Check continuity for sensor. If open replace it. Check coil , air filter and heater element are cleaned.
If high amps, replace heating element. Thanks.

Could be the temp sensor about 50-60 bucks, the book will say the board about 350-500 bucks. Try the temp sensor first. If it's reading over what the water is then that is probally the problem.

Code E05

E05 and E06 is the error codes for a faulty stack flue sensor. try changing the sensor first is the cheapest. if that doesn't work check for corrosion on control board in which case will have to change out board.
