I have water squirting out around where my filter basket attaches the machine, and very little water runs throughout the filter basket. It also makes a buzzing sound. I have descaled, but no change?

LOUD NOISES ARE HAPPENING

Unplug the machine from the electrical, then remove the unit from the basket and make sure the blades are clear of scrap paper.

Replace the unit and make sure it is facing in the correct direction and squirt, or lightly pour mineral oil (or machine oil, or something like WD-40) directly on the rollers and let it absorb into the remaining paper for a few minutes then try running the unit.

If that solves your problem, you should squirt a little lubricant onto the blades for every one hour of use.

I don't know much about this unit, but there might be a rubber seal in head where the porta filter locks in to. It is possible that this seal is either damaged or just corrupted with grounds. Try cleaning it out and or checking the seal for damage.

Coffee tastes funny. does machine need to be cleaned?

Yes, in this type of machine, put a little bit of vinegar and water in top and run a couple times through machine, with of course filter basket on, not with filter or coffee, and brew a couple times. Use 25percent to water ratio, do this twice then do it again, twice with only mineral water. Then make a pot normal, and let me know how coffee taste now. Thanks Mr Bean Man

Water is leaking from the side of the filter basket

The basket is probably not lined up any longer because of the pressure used to place the filter in the basket. Where you attach the basket to the machine, there are posts on the top and bottom. I had to put a small rubber rod behind the bottom post to make the top come back in line and that stopped the leak.

Try taking the filter out, and turn the sprayhead off the unit. Put the basket back on, and try pouring clear water through the unit. If the water runs through fine, you either have a plugged sprayhead or are using too finely ground coffee. Look at the holes in the sprayhead, and make sure that none of the holes are plugged. If the basket still overflows, try using a drill bit to make the hole in the funnel a little larger. Good luck.

Brewed coffee mess

You may be grinding the coffee to fine making the draining a little slower. There's something called a fast flow filter that may help also. Also, make sure that you aren't jamming the filter down to partially block the drain hole ensuring that it is freely draining out unobstructed

Bunn coffee pot blows water out top of basket

Check the grind on the coffee, brew a pot without coffee and if it overflows, then the machine has a problem. If it doesn't then try a coarser grind on the coffee.

sound like you have some water in the engine, try removing the spark plug and squirting a little water repellent like wd40 or duck oil, crank it over a couple of turns, make sure the plug lead is away from the plug hole, then squirt some damp start in and refit the plug and try again.

New Mr. Coffee Espresso machine producing white gunk

Hello aura20,

I bought one this week and had the same problem. I used vinegar and rinsed thoroughly and yet the whit flakes remained. I did some research and found that high end espresso makers often have very fine screens that catch minerals and grounds and so on. This Mister Coffee espresso maker has only a metal basket with tiny holes so it's not really filtering anything. Moreover the metal is treated aluminum, so it scales naturally. Also, if your water is hard like mine that just makes things worse. I just tore off a piece of paper towel only big enough to line the bottom of the filter basket and not come up around the edges. Then I put a drop of water on the paper towel and pressed the paper towel against the filter basket so I could see the little holes through the paper towel. Then I rinsed the machine again and the white flakes were completely gone from the water and the paper towel had collected it instead. I did the same thing with a new piece of paper towel and I added coffee, I did not add the maximum amount of coffee and I did not tamp the coffee. The product was smooth and creamy as it came out of the machine very slowly. But it tasted great and it was strong and clean. Upon removing the basket I found hard dry grounds stuck to the basket and paper towel. I had to use a spoon and running water to dig all of it out. It's not as good as professional espresso makers, but it'll do for a quick shot. I hope that helps.

No flow

Tamp the coffee a little less - run water through filter basket to make sure it is dripping out before filling with espresso grounds. Dry the filter thoroughly before inserting coffee grounds. I would reccomend using double filter basket only instead of the single.
