try taking a flashlight and look through cover into unit for a blown fuse or take cover off (which is better) if taking cover off unplug unit. If a fuse is blown remove it and take to a store like Radio Shack for proper fuse watt and amp..if fuses are ok i would get it fixed...sounds like a minor problem since main power is there. GL
Turn set on and press a bright flashlight against the screen. Look around the edge of the flashlight for moving images. The image should still be there. The back light is off so you can not see it.
The problem is most likely in the back light inverter board. Possibly one transformer on the board is causing the unit to switch off after the fault is detected. You should replace the back light inverter board. Since you did not give the model of the set I can not give more information.
Hi I had the same problem. It seems that when I dropped it the back buttton got stucked, so what I did was to unscrew the back part (as if to replace the battery) and gave it kind of gave it a knock or hit it softly just to jiggle the button. Scre it back on and got it to work, Hope it works for you.

Wow what entertainment. Both the poster and the bobint17 don't have a clue how this flashlight works... why answer a question you don't know the answer too? To screw with people? To sound like you know what you're doing?
Anyway, the Gerber TX 3.0 uses a Luxeon 3 LED. There is no bulb. It is not designed as a user replaceable item and unfortunately even someone skilled at soldering and such can't fix the light because the head is permanently attached and not designed to be removed allowing access to the LED assembly. Can the head be removed? Possibly. Will it damage something while trying to remove it with a lot of force? Possibly. Should you try? No. Why? Because the light has a limited lifetime warranty from Gerber. Send it to them and they will fix or replace it!!!
