Canon CLC 1180 - Problem with INIT of colors

Canon CLC 1180. After changing developers and ceramic toners, I made few successful prints, but after some time it stopped. On copy operation I got error E020/0380. After that we did an INIT of colors and CMY colors give errors E020/0124; 0224; 0314 ... but INIT K gives ready status. We tried developing assemblies in working printer and they worked fine. After that we installed working photosensitive drum but printer gave same error codes. We Have two CLC 1180 printers on site and we can swap parts between them if needed.

SOURCE: CLC 1180 with error E020 with sub 124

Hi A service manual below may be helpful.
http://www.nodevice.com/manual/newmans/canon_clc_1180zip/get9816.html

First, check for broken gears or missing teeth on all the developers. That is usually the cause.
E020 is a toner feed problem to the developer
If the copier is still under warranty. It's better to call up Canon 1-800-828-4040 and have them send out a Certified Technician to fix it.

SOURCE: CLC 1180 with error E020 with sub 0124

Did you change the Magenta stater/ developer? A E020 code is saying that the toner desity is low. Try replasing the developer and run the ATDC for Megenta and see if that helps. You may have a problem with the developing ass'y it self. You may be able to take another colors dev. ass'y with the hopper open and see if the code goes away. The sub code 0124 means that it is the Magenta dev. ass'y

Hi,

first check this site for the error codes.
clik here

The error code E020 refers to a density problem with one of the Drum Units.

ur hopper motor has jammed and it is not allowing the toner to go to the developer just open the hopper motor and put it into the developer or remove the connecter attacted to the developer. it will work . there is a gear actually on the motor which breaks.

So the only sol. is to replace, if it is under warranty caontact the customer care..
Goodluck,

Pls Solve my problem : Canon CLC 1180 Copier error Switch power Off and On again. E020 0481 Mr. Santosh Kolte. Pune.

Hello,
The probable causes for error :

The developer has deteriorated.
• The developing cylinder fails to
rotate.
• The developing assembly is not
locked.
• The toner concentration (patch
detection) sensor is faulty.
• The developer inside the
developing assembly is faulty.
• The toner level sensor is faulty.
• The concentration sensor is
subjected to stray light (no cover,
front cover open).
• The photosensitive drum has
deteriorated.

In error code E020-0481, means that the problem is in black developer. So I would first try to replace Bk developer, check the developer station for malfunctions ( broken gears, broken developing roller bushings,... ).

Hope that helps!
