That is suppose to mean the electronic control 'thinks' the control keypad is not connected.
If it really is connected securely and making good contact, than there may be a problem in the control keypad or the part of the electronic control that detects the keyboard connection. In the first case the control panel would need to be replaced to correct the condition, in the second, the electronic control.
I would think the control panel or its connection might be most suspect though.

Have you tried disconnecting power from the appliance for a minute or two to see if maybe the control would reset?

In case of a problem or clarification or my solution was insufficient, don't hesitate to post me a reply.

Oven self-cleans but won't bake. the burners and the broiler both work.

Try turning off the breaker or unplugging the unit for a few minutes and let the electronics reset. If this doesn't correct the problem, then it appears you have a problem with the ribbon cable connection between the oven and the keyboard or a key sticking on the keyboard or a bad keyboard or a bad control module. These should probably be inspected and repaired by a qualified technician, if the reset doesn't work. Hope this helps!

F7 is beeping is also running

We had a similar issue. I assume you have the touch pad keyboard. If you clean this with a rug that produces static it will cause a problem with the touch pad. I replaced ours and it is now working again. You can get this part at Our p/n for this was

1008902 Touchpad & control panel assembly (Black) 1 $173.10 $173.10
but make sure you check for the correct part/number to fit your oven! Make sure you disconnect power from the oven before you disassemble anything!

I was very happy with the service from I can highly recommend using them!
Good luck!

Whirlpool Double oven control panel

A lot of people seem to have ran into this problem. I had no luck finding a solution to this problem anywhere on the internet. I finally fixed this problem by replacing the control board. Wanted to put this info out here for others. The part swaps out fairly easy for all of you considering the fix yourself. Sears direct had the cheapest price.

The F1 error message usually means a short somewhere in the touch panel keyboard. There has been a rash of problems with keyboards. Most of the time there is a simple fix that can be used. Please see my post of April 14, 2007 in response to the problem posted by OVENMAN on April 12, 2007. There you will find a suggested solution which has helped hundreds of folks who have had error messages with GE and Kenmore ovens. If this fix doesn't work, you will need a replacement touch panel. There is no practical way to repair the keyboard in ovens.
