Format the SD card through camera menu not with pc ...the card must be matched to the camera so needs to be formated inside the camera ? if its a new card your trying then this will solve your problem. try another usb port or another computer to make sure its not just your pc. try another usb lead to eliminate that..hope this helps

This reason might be because of Virus in your memory cards the best option is.. try formatting the memory card or use different SD card, and reset your camera settings

My mother in law has a cool pix L120. How does she transfer photos from the cameras internal memory to a SIM card?

The only time the camera puts images on INTERNAL memory is when you do not have a SD card in the camera.

When I have an SD in my Coolpix camera and I want to get the images on my computer I take OUT the SD card and put it in the slot in my computer.

The only way to access images ON the camera's internal memory is to have the Computer access the camera via USB. You should be able to see the camera when you plug it in via USB you can copy images from the camera.

You can copy all of the images on the camera to a folder on your computer.

If you can read the SD card on the computer you can copy the images from your computer (folder you made) to the PROPER FOLDER on the SD card. The proper folder is a XXXNIKON Named folder. (I am assuming you took at least one IMAGE with the SD card in the camera.

Did you install the Nikon ViewNX 2 before you connect the camera? Are you sure there are pictures on the memory card?

WHY ARE MY PHOTOS FROM MY NIKON COOL PIX IN DSCN FORMAT. I CAN'T EMAIL PHOTOS TO HUSBAND ON IPAD. PRIOR CAMERA (CANON SURE SHOT) TRANSFERRED WITH EAST.

Nikon CoolPix cameras, in all but a very few old models, save in .jpg format. DSCN is the filename prefix, not the file type like a JPEG or TIFF. Some models will also save in TIFF format, or in a very select few very high end models in .NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) RAW files, but unless you're using a Nikon DSLR this is highly unlikely. If the images will open on any other program that views jpg files, such as the programs supplied with your computer then it's not a formatting issue.

For example, the file names should, from the time the camera is new, begin naming as DSCN0001.jpg, DSCN0002.jpg, and so on. If you're trying to transfer directly from the camera, to an IPAD, it's likely a driver issue instead of a file issue. Just remove the card and use a $5 SD card reader, or plug the card into the IPAD if it accepts them. You may also search to see if there is software available for your camera to use on the IPAD.

Coolpix s220 won't transfer pics via usb cable

If you can get the pics using a card reader, why are you insisting on using the camera and USB cord? Pros always use a card reader.

Putting Internal Pic's on the SD card

Well one option would be to download the images from the cameras internal card to your computer and then transfer them to the card. I have a card reader so it would be easy to do, or if your computer has a slot for the card that would work too. Or, just hook your camera up to the computer and use the image downloading wizard that pops up in XP. Or, if it doesn't show/pop up, just hook up camera to 'puter via cord & then click on my computer and you'll see the camera listed. Move image files & then you may need a card reader to transfer images to xd. Not sure why you would want to keep them on the XD card except to transport them around to another 'puter.

Yes. The device was not using a standard file system. There usually is no cure. Try this. Format the card in the device and try one more time. Many don't know to perform this step.
