Simpson washing machine problem have taken out stainless steel wash bowl and the plastic top/seal around it has water in it is that normal for that to happen

Yes. Some have water & some have sand in that ring. It is a balance ring to stop vibration when bowl spins. Do not empty it.

Why won't Affinity fill or spin?

Probably there is water in the drum or the pressure switch is jam in a state of "full of water" or washing machine didn't drain water .. So, the fault should be sought in the elements responsible for control the level (pressure switch, pcb...etc.) or control draining water (drain pump, pcb, filter....etc.).
The precondition that the machine goes into a spin cycle is that pressure switch folded down to position "empty of water".

Spin vibrations

Make sure the legs on all four corners are down tight and even level the machine with this 4 pads. If the machine is level it will vibrate less, and then not all machines are completely quiet when working, especially on spin cycle..

You might try using Jet Dry in your rinse aid dispenser, but plastic things tend to hold water and there isn't much you can do except try using Jet Dry.

Frigidaire Front Load Washer and dryer shakes a lot

hi, Try a smaller lighter load, you may be filling it up with too much washing, if you still get excessive movement check your filter is not partially blocked, this could cause vibration by too much water being in the machine during its spin cycle, other than that it could be that the machines hydrolic dampers are worn or have lost thier compression and new dampers would be needed in this case.
Another consideration would be the tub bearings could need replacement, check for up and down movement by gently but firmly pushing up and down on the rim of the stainless steel tub, if movement can be felt then perhaps get them checked and replaced.

Hope this helps.

During spin cycle washer drum knock and seems as if it is out of balance, even when empty

"spider" broken. Cast aluminum bracket that attaches shaft to inner tub is coroded. Spin tub and shaft assembly cost approx $300 to replace. Heard that parts may have lifetime warranty.

Will not spin fast, only goes cw and ccw at medium speed during spin cycle

I took the stainless steel basket out and found the aluminum spider to be rotted. The basket was dragging and that made the motor overload.
I made up a stainless steel plate, took the original shaft and pressed it in.

Re-assembled and now is fine

Bad vibration

No belt, its the stabilizer springs that absorb the movement could be broken. You may be also overloading the washer and too much weight is on one side of the washer. You will need to distribute the weight evenly. Another thigs. ALso try adjusting the feet on the bottom of the washer first so that it doesnt rock when not moving and see if it helps, if not put less clothes in the washer and if those fail its time to open and check the springs
