Hello button7
Welcome,

How old is your unit?

  1. Check if your freezer is packed so full that you have articles covering the air vents found in the rear of most freezers.
  2. This would restrict the cold air from circulating between the freezer and fridge compartments ,thus inconsistent temperatures may arise!
In today's refrigerator / freezers they share the air in a circulation process.

Or you may have this problem

Low refrigerant change
If the unit has a low refrigerant change, the freezer will not reach proper temperatures. This must be checked by a qualified technician due to EPA regulations.

Let me know how you do!

SOURCE: Our caravan fridge electrolux rm4206

remove the fridge from caravan, now turn upside down and leave for as long as possible. what this does is get rid of any air locks in the gas. once left for a month or too turn back and leave for a day to setal and refit to caravan.this should solve your problem, it has been tried and tested on our caravan and worked. (This will not work on a domestic house fridge because they work on a different system)

SOURCE: Freezer and Fridge temperature not very cold

I can find only one good reason why your refrigerator may not be cooling. There is a control board inside the fresh food compartment and no signs of a defrost timer. If there is someone that go through some test to eliminate other possible problems would be good. If the refrigerator is still running, unplug and open the freezer compartment. Remove the back panel so we can have a look at the evaporator coils. Clean or are they frozen with a large piece of ice? Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Frig will not cool

I had a similar problem. One thing that I need to know is is it cooling at all? If everything is operating, but no cooling occurs, you may have a bad board. This controls all of the components. Getting it replaced could be pretty pricey. Good luck, and please rate.

Have extra older Frig in th garage Mod 596.72232200

Sounds like a intermittent problem with the defrost timer. Sometimes they get stuck. Check continuity of the defrost heater and defrost thermostat. If both are good then replace the defrost timer, that should solve the problem.

My Frigidaire refrigerator is at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and will not cool down

There are a few possibilities. First, Is the freezer portion working okay? If yes, then the problem is blocked air flow from the freezer to the frig. If no, then the cooling fan could be bad or the thermostat could be bad. First check for temperature in Freezer section, should be about 4-8 degrees no more. If it is cold, then locate the cooling fan behind the back of the frig and see if it is moving or listen for movement. If it is moving then rearrange the food in your freezer compartment.and frig compartment away from the vents. If it is not moving, then the thermocouple could be bad. compressor problems and freon leaks are not that common unless the frig has been moved alot. The cooling fan or thermocouple or overstuffed freezer compartment are the usual suspects in 90 % of cooling problems. cooling fans and thermocouples can be cleaned by using canned compressed air to remove dust which will sometimes cause a failure. The parts are inexpensive but labor is about $80. Start with the freezer because all of the cooling for the whole unit starts in the freezer.

Fridge/freezer. Freezer works great but fridge is

Air from the freezer is blown into the fridge by a fan, some new type frigs have electronic controls that open and close a vent to frig. the older ones have two vents in the frig from the freezer and when covered with frost or ice the air will not reach the frig. check for ice or just defrost the freezer if there is ice or frost, also check for food or plastic over vents in freezer. Also check that the freezer fan is running as these sometimes become blocked or defective motor.

Fruits & Veggies are freezing in both lower frig compartments

Good day,
This problem appears in spades this time of year, every year.
The problem becomes more severe when the temperatures in the house cools down and is made even worse if the usage of the machine becomes lighter.

It occurs when the machine is off, not on.
There is an open vent, near the bottom, between the freezer compartment and the fresh food compartment. This opening or vent is necessary when the machine is running, so that the air pumped into the top of the fresh food section, can return to the freezer compartment. This is by design.
Now,
When the machine is off, the zero degree air from the freezer compartment. can drift into the fresh food compartmnet and drop the temps near the bottom to below freezing.
Off time increases substantialy at this time of year.
Some have even recommended turning the controls colder to offset the problem, but I've no proof it works well, or even a little.
SXS and top freezer models experience it more than bottom freezer models.

Freezer works, refrigerator isn't

If your refrigerater is cooling correctly it should be in the zero to ten degree range. If this is so then you must have an airflow problem from the freezer to frig compartment. Check your airflow control setting to verify it is in middle position.Next check vent with your hand ,you should feel cool air coming through.Note that side/side frigs have one at the bottom too.Hope this helps

Freezer freezes OK, frig compartment doesnt get cold

Does the unit only have one compressor (black round object on back of unit). If yes then sounds as though you have lost some refrigerant (just enough to keep the freezer happy). If no (ie two compressors) check if both compressors hot. If both hot then have major problem if one cold then have a thermostat gone. Personally I think you have lost gas from your description, if so then you are looking at a dead fridge freezer. Hope this is of some help.
