LOST ROUTER LOGIN PASSWORD
If you have forgotten your personal router login password there is no way to recover it. You will have to reset the router. This means all the settings on the router will be reset to factory defaults. It also means that all your connected devices will need to be connected again with the new security information (WEP, WAP, etc,) . You will need the default admin login name and the default admin password. This can be found in the user guide that came with the router. This can usually be found online at the router manufacturers site.
There is usually a button or a switch hidden in a pinhole opening on the back of the router. Pressing and holding the switch for 10 seconds or so will cause the reset and usually the LEDs will flash and blink for several seconds as the router firmware resets and clears out the old information.
If you are trying to get into someone else's router illegally there is no way to find out their login password.
For future reference, write the password down, or a hint at what the password is, on a piece of tape and secure it on the bottom of the router. I use my cell phone memo function to store all my passwords.

How to uninstall my router?

Can you be a bit more clear? I don't understand? You want to reconfigure the SSID and Security Key? You want to remove the SSID in the computer software so it will not auto connect?

LINKSYS N300 SETUP WITHOUT CD

Turn the router on.
Connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to one of the 4 'LAN' ports.
On your computer, hold down the "Windows" key, and press/release the 'R' key.
In the mostly-black window that appears, type 'cmd' and press ENTER.
Type 'ipconfig'.
Read the output, looking for the IP-address of the "gateway".
Start "Internet Explorer".
Hold down the CTRL key, and press/release the 'o' ("oh") key.
In the window, type http://192.168.aaa.bbb
where 'aaa.bbb' is replaced by the IP-address that was listed for the "gateway".
Login to router.
Click the "Setup" button, and follow the instructions.

Finding your WEP key

Samantha, ...

the only security methods supported on your N300 Router are WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK. The WEP security (you mention) is not supported by WPS. Go back into your settings and choose WPA or WPA2.

Need network security key

Only you have the security key. You can reset to default settings by pushing and holding the RESET button for 30 seconds or so. Then reconfigure SSID and Security code. You may want to write down the password somewhere.

I just got a Canon Pixma MG5370, Im running an XP cp to network thru Netgear N300 then thru DSL, the N300 dangles a Netgear 8 port wired Switch. I cant get the dam printer to connect correctly to print,...

Set a static IP on the Canon printer
e.g.
IP: 192.168.x.x
Subnet mask: 255.255.x.x
Gateway: 192.168.X.1

DHCP should always be enabled on the router for your other devices to work.

Network Key (WEP, WPA, WPA2 Encryption key)To connectyour computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh networklist, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connectto your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Keybefore allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This NetworkKey is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used toconfigure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way tosetup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrasethat was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_addressFor information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in thelaptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Security key is a password that protects you from others getting on your wireless network.

To find key:

Access the management page from your browser. (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Etc.)

The address is: 192.168.2.1

Log onto the router. Default password is left blank. Click "submit"

Click on the "Wireless Setup" link

on that page you will see your SSID and you security key.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe
