What is best way to wire speakers to 70V amplifier

If you are attempting to connect standard 4 ohm or 8 ohm speakers to a 70v amplifier, you will need to purchase "MATCHING TRANSFORMERS" for the speakers. These matching transformers will be available from the manufacturer of the 70v amplifier.

How come my two subs wont get powered with a 12 ohm load. is it to high of a load. they are 12

HelloCheck the output impedence [indicated in OHms]]. You can get it from its manual. If it is designated as; 8OHms for example; you can connect one 8OHMs speaker direltly, or two 4 OHMs speakers in serieal connection. Likeways, if the output impedence is 6OHms, you can connect one 6OHms speaker direltely, or 2 12OHMs speakers in parellel. Just see, when we connect thow speakers in serieal, the impedence will be the sum of both speaker impedences. if we connect the same in parellel, the impedence will get halved. OK.

How to activate 70v line of crest audio cki 800v

First of all the 70 volt line is used when we are dragging long lengths of speaker wires. hence to counter the drop we use a high voltage line brring it further down without any remarkable drop and use a step down matching transformer to power the speaker according to the impedance of the speaker to the secondary of the transformer. Connect the 70 volt to the 70 volt output in the amplifier. Now connect the other end of the wires tto the primary of the 70 volt transformer. Use the secondary output to connect to the speaker using the tap most suitable..2, 4,6,8 ohms . Check the phasing when you connect or reverse if the bass quality is less.
Hope this helps. Good day

I hope you can help:-) I have a Realistic 35 watt solid state P.A. amplifier and on the back of the amp is this: 70V 16 8 4 COM There are holes under them for wires, how do I hook up the speakers to this...

This would depend on if you are using 4,8,16 ohm speakers or a 70v system.

For regular speakers the (-) wire would go to the COM terminal
the (+) would go to either the 4,8 or 16 ohm terminal (Check on the speaker itself for the "impedance").

If more then one speaker is used then there is some other math involved, but i can help with that.

The 70V terminal is used when powering a bunch of celing speakers like in stores and malls. Each speaker has its own transformer on it, all the transformers are connected togeather in a chain and wired to the COM and 70V terminals.

What Crest Amplifier series replaces the VS series

This is kind of an ambiuous question. Are you looking for barrier strip inputs and outputs? Are you looking for 70V output lines? Or are you looking for a standard 1/4" TRS input with either 1/4" or speakon outputs? If you can describe your application requirements, I can provide you with a recommendation.

Thanks,
Dan
