Question about JVC Televison & Video

1 Answer

My JVC 7 disc DVD player won't open. Tried to reset by holding play/stop while plugging in, but it just says TEST & didn't do anything. When I turn it on it just says LOADING. Help!

Jvc xv-fa900bk dvd w/7 disc changer. Unit powers on, but won't open. Got it to read TEST, but it didn't appear to test anything, just sat there w/TEST on the display. Not making any sounds/noises. Carousel doesn't turn when I try to select another disc. Nothing. I did get it to open once, so maybe something's loose?

SOURCE: Disc loads but player displays No Disc message

If you cleanred the optics and this didnt help then you did all you can do without more test equipment. Your player might need an focus or tracking offset alighnment or a focus or tracking gain alighnment or the unit could have a defective laser. Only by connecting it up to test equipment will a tech be able to tell.

2. Shut off the unit and unplug it from the AC outlet.
3. Press and Hold the "Play" and "Open/Close" keys, simultaneously on the player and not the remote control.
4. While holding these keys, plug the AC cord back into the outlet. (TEST and CPU ver# will appear on the display)
5. Release the "Play" and "Open/Close" keys.
6. Press DVD Menu twice on the remote.

The DVD (JVC NV-410) is stuck on pause with a DVD inside of it. It won't open, the power can't be turned off, and the play, menu, rewind, fast forward, etc... functions are triggering anything. Please...

Greetings lwilly,

I would suggest fully unplugging the unit for roughly an hour. This should reset the unit.

Once you plug it back in, I would first try and eject the disc before attempting anything else.

Hope this helps
