SOURCE: can't print
For all Epson printing problems go to our website.
Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have general maintenance help and tips plus I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.
The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.
For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.
I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.
If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.
Happy trouble free printing

Are you confident the new cartridges are full and in-date? Can you confirm that the old cartridges were not removed until immediately before the new cartridge was installed. Did you remove the yellow tape from the new cartridges before you installed them? Were the cartridges changed properly such that an ink charging cycle occurred. Have you carried out any head cleaning cycles? If not, do it. Have you done a nozzle check print? If not, do it. Any sign of ink? Yes, but not perfect cyan-magenta-yellow and black? If so do a couple more head cleans and nozzle checks. If still not perfect, let it rest for 24 hours to disperse air bubbles. Then repeat.
If you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have good ink cartridges properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head
parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean/nozzle check again. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Printer wouldn't print if red light flashing. Check status monitor for detail? Are some ink not recognized? Do replacement procedure from status monitor on "How to...". Unplug all ink tank. Plug only one ink tank . See status monitor. Is ink tank recognized. repeat procedure, and add ink tank 1 by 1. How about status monitor then?

Make certain that you removed the tab covering the ink ports. This is usually the problem when the printer cannot locate a new ink cartridge. If that is not the problem, let me know and I will research you error message.
