Loosen the chain adjuster and remove the bar bolts. Remove the side cover. Remove the existing chain. Thread the new chain over the sprocket making sure the drive cogs are engaging the sprocket correctly, then thread it over the end of the bar ensuring the drive cogs are inserted correctly in the bar groove. Install the bar/chain onto the bolts aligned with the chain adjustment pin and install the cover. Snug the bolts and tighten the chain with the guide bar tip elevated. Once you are satisfied with the chain tension, tighten the bar bolts and....... VOILA.... you are done. Head for that pesky neighbors tree that drops leaves in your yard.....

Of course, make sure the chain orientation is correct !!!! I have seen them installed backwards on the shelf in the big box stores....

I helped a friend do this back in college a few times. I thought it was really cool to see the way chainsaws actually worked. It was even cooler when I got to see him actually use the chainsaw to cut down a tree. It's really kind of amazing how the process of something like this works. I hope that more people will look closely into their options with things like this. That way they'll be able to do the best thing for themselves.

I am trying to chng 10 inch saw blde on model Ls1 03 0 I do

Its easy there should be a wrench on the saw that fits the bolt that holds the blade on and there is also a button on the shaft houseind that when pushed will lock the shaft so the blade will not turn. the olny tricky part it the bolt turns in the oppisite deriction as a normal bolt so you need to turn it clockwise to loosen it. Hold back the blade gaurd push the button loosen the bolt look at way the washers go on as you take the old blade off when the new blade goes on make sure you put if faceing in the right deriction there will be arrows to show you witch way it spins and install in reverse order

I have a 16 inch chain saw and want to buy a new chain saw blade does anyone know what other manufacturer's blade will fit

Oregon mfg. makes a full line of replacement chains and bars (blade). Check with home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Bring full details of the saw with you, or the saw itself. Good luck!

I need a new 10 inch blade

A new chain can be fabricated by a local chainsaw shop. A new bar requires a model number to answer, a make couldn't hurt. Tag; you're it.

loosen the two nuts that hold the chain cover on. Once they are just loose, then use a flat blade screw driver to turn the slot that you see right next to the base of the chain. Once the chain is tight, retighten the two nuts.
