SOURCE: Upon accessing my fb page one day a prompt directed me to login and enter my password. I had always logged in through a text my sister sent me. After 3 rejected passwords I was finally able to log on.
It really sounds like you've created a whole new profile and your old one is still there waiting for the proper credentials for you to log into. Thing with Facebook is even if you were able to use most of the same information creating the new profile, it still has a unique "FB ID", which is how people with the same names can have different FB pages. Your sister should be able to look at your profile in her friends list and find your id, and then you can initiate a password reset to the original email account associated with the profile.
