SOURCE: Craftsman riding mower starts, then runs for 30

The smoke is oil going in to the combustion chamber, will have to check for broken rings or piston. also if the tractor was stored in a position that the oil would run to the combustion chamber it will do that untill all the oil is burn

SOURCE: muffler exhaust blows debris in front of mower

Most likely the problem if this is a reoccuring problem is that either the muffler flnge or head mounting surface is mis-formed and not totally flat, sometime the easiest and cheapest fix is to get longer mounting bolts and installing multiple gaskets between the 2 surfaces to give more room for forgiveness at the mis-shapen parts, anouther solution I have done is installed a metal deflection plate in the area where the exhuast blows out to deffect the exhaust to an area where it does not cause problems. Hope this helps solve the problem Don

SOURCE: I have a Toro Zmaster

you could have a broken piston ring. check the oil level. if it is ok or low and still smokes or hard to start then you may have to overhaul the engine. let me know what you find.

the black liquid is most likely oil and the smoke indicates the rings are bad or a valve is sticking allowing oil into the cylinder.
you are most likely looking at an engine rebuild

I have recently bought a poluan pro mower. It has been spitting oil in filter and blowing out white smoke from muffler.

sounds like it is overfilled with oil remove oil fill to level line for motor but white smoke means its getting to much gas or is this two cycle engine wich would mean you mixed oil and gas wrong and to make another batch

Lawn mower throwing oil from muffler

If the mower has been tipped it will have sent oil up the breather and into the back of the air filter box, this will soak the paper filer and smoke badly, remove the air filter cover and filter, run the engine with these removed until the smoking stops, now replace the filter with a new one, when tipping the mower only tip it back on the handles, not from either side.

When I start mower it is ok for about 30 seconds and then a lot of white smoke starts coming out and small drops of oil start to drip onto body

It sounds like a lot of "blow-by" which means the rings or piston is leaking compression in high amounts carrying oil and water vapor to collect onto the vent where it drips.

Blue/white smoke from muffler, but when muffler is removed smoke disappears

Obviously it has had oil or similar inside it at one time or another. Have you given it enough running time to burn all that out? How old is lawnmower & was any work done recently to it?
