Power is ok, red and green lights are lit. Remote or manual attepts with open/close buttons produce no results.

Disc loading mechanism fault. Contact any service technician to repair it. Have to take out the mechanism from the set for repair. It is somewhat a skilled work. Where the code is listed as [### ###] the first is for the DVD and the second is for the VCR. Otherwise just the one code operates both the DVD and the VCR.
