I replaced my well pump and put everything back where it was. I prime it and plug in and pump runs but I got no pressure and no water comes through. I even put hide in line from the well Any ideas

it still needs priming all the way down to the foot valve
try putting a hose fitting in the primer hole and with a good water supply ( tank, garden hose ) turned on run the pump until you get a good supply the turn of the primer hose
if you have an air leak the pump will stop pumping after a few seconds as it sucks in the air and the prime is lost
could indicate that there is no water at the foot valve

Well Water Problems Well Pump Problems

Dealing with the many issues of having a well pump and a water well system can be very trying. There are many things that can go wrong with the shallow well or jet well pump.

  1. The foot valve or check valve at the bottom will fail. This is often caused by normal deterioration of the metal and it will eventually fall apart. When this happens all the water that you just pumped will go shooting back to where it came from and the pump will be turning on and off very quickly.
  2. You will get a hole in the pipe or a fitting will loosen up just enough to allow an air leak which will cause the pump to loose prime and run continuously. Finding a small air leak came be mind boggling, be patient and check everything twice…
  3. Wearing of the impeller and the insides of the pump gives too much space inside and the pump will not be able to make enough pressure to shut down like it once did. You can back down the pressure switch to get it to shut down, but the pump will need to be replaced.
  4. Dirt can get inside the little hose going to the pressure switch making the on and he off delayed. This will make the shutoff too high and the turn on too low. Take the hose off and blow it out. Remember to also clean out the fittings at the switch and the pump.
  5. Do not hookup any kind of plastic fittings or pipe directly to the pump. If the pump looses prime it will get very warm and make them leak. Always thread a metal fitting into the pump and then transition to plastic away from the pump.

These are a few of the common things that can go wrong with shallow well jet pumps.
This is not a complete list as I have seen many crazy things happen. Hopefully this will guide you and help with some of the most common issues that can come up.

I have no suction at the skimmer.

maybe your pump has lost it's prime? prime the pump with it OFF and use a garden hose connected to house supply , remove hose and turn pump ON you should see dishcharge shoot out some bubbles at first then they should dissapate in -60 seconds , if bubbles continue, you have a suction side leak in maybe a filter lid or hose connection this will make the filter loose its prime after every off cycle

My titan 330 airless paint spray will not shut off while primming

Airless paint sprayers should not turn off while in prime mode. As long as the prime valve is open the motor can pump paint but the system will not build any pressure. Once the prime valve is closed the pump should pump paint into the hose until it gets to the pressure level required to turn the motor off. If the pump does not turn off with the prime valve closed, it could be that the spring in the valve is weak and won't hold the valve closed under pressure. If the hose is up to pressure and the motor just keeps trying to pump paint, you may have a bad pressure sensor or it is disconnected from the circuit board.

How do I vaccum the pool? I dont know if I turn the Veriflow to out and then where do I hook in the hose?..Its my girlfriends pool and she just expects me to know. Thanks

Oh then you DO need help. To vacuum you don't need to change the valve setting on the filter, but if there is a valve on the intake selecting main drain/skimmer you can select skimmer only, but I usually only do this after I have the hose primed. . You attach the hose to the skimmer inlet. Usually there will be a round plate attched to the hose that fits into the skimmer ( you may have to remove the basket) If you don't have that round plate on the hose, then you can insert the hose driectly into the bottom of the skimmer. Before you attach the hose, connect it to the skimmer head on the pole. Submerge the head and hose. Allow to settle to bottom. Put all the hose into the pool. Take the other end and hold over the discharge back into the pool to fill the hose with water (prime) until air bubbles stop coming from vacuum head. Then hold your hand over the hose (to keep from loosing prime) and quickly attach to skimmer. You may hear some air, and the pump may stop pumping fully mommentairly untill it is pumping full water again. Now you can select the valve to divert all the flow from the skimmer

It will start out with a good flow then will not pump any water even though it is keeping its prime.

You have some debris floating around somewhere. If you are pumping from a pond or a rain-barrel, you might have debris clogging the inlet. Or maybe you have a stone in the impeller - if your outlet is on top of the impeller a stone will sink to the bottom so you could have flow initially, but the stone would be carried up to clog the outlet within a few seconds. Or you might have stone in the hose feeding into the impeller - that stone could roll back down the hose even though you don't loose prime.

How to prime my Pool?

Prime is the term we use to state that the air has been mostly purged from the pump and the pump is moving water. When you have lost the prime, your pump is no longer pumping water through it. Sometimes it can be very difficult to regain the prime on the pump. This will tell you how to get the prime back in these difficult situations
