SOURCE: No hose suction with replacement bag

The Bag must be blocking the port it connects to. Remove the bag and close it up. Test it again with no bag in it. If you have suction now, the bag is blocking the port. Maybe it is the wrong type, or installed wrong.

SOURCE: No suction..says bag full

You were right! Sure enough my problem was not a sock but a weird dried fig solid as a rock forming an obstruction that eventually enough lint built up that it formed a complete and total blockage. The fig was so tough that it almost pierced the hose. I went after it with a wire chase and once I noticed that it was about to pierce the hose in one place I managed to dislodge it with a counter twisting motion. Vacume on - Wooosh - Power and suction once again. Thanks I was about to go buy a new vacume!

I have a kenmore intuition with power flow. I just put a new bag in it and the check bag light keeps coming on. After running it for about a minute it makes a terrible sound. How do I fix it?

Try removing and cleaning (or replacing) any filters. Check that there is nothing that is restricting the suction flow by making sure that hoses and inlet and outlet to the dust collection area (in your case the bag) are all clear. Basically for a vacuum cleaner to work at it's optimum, air needs to be drawn through the system and ejected with the least amount of restriction as possible. Obviously exhaust filters are needed so only clean air is ejected and pipes need to be clear to pick up the dirt and these do block over time. One of the biggest culprits for blocking are products like Shake 'n Vac as very fine particulates can pass through bags, that is why filters are used.

Light on even though no apparent clog

Those machines measure the suction, check the normal spots for plugs, the hose, wand, in the base where the dirt goes 90 degrees. Unhook things and reconnect. Use your ears, the motor will change pitch if you connect to an area thats plugged. If it's just not plugged it may be a very full bag or dirty filters restricting the air flow. That light simply says when there's not enough air flow.
If it's not plugged it's the filter I'd suspect. They're cloth like material so its hard to tell when they're too plugged. I'll include links to the correct filters for that machine.

My vacum will not pick up, it is spitting the dirt out?

Check for blockage.

Most likely place is in the tube leading up from behind the beater bar. While unplugged, remove beater bar & belt & check.

If you have a strong shop vac, remove beater bar, belt, and bag, applying suction to the tube in back of the beater bar will many times dislodge the clog with little effort, sometimes though it will take some fishing around with a stiff piece of coathanger wire or similar.

Normally when you can apply suction with the shop vac to the tube in back of the beater bar & feel suction at the tube were the bag connects, you know you've got it all and you should be unclogged. Put it back together and you should be ready to roll.

Red light indicating bag is full, but is not.

Look for air flow restrictions, like plugged passageways. sometimes it is difficult to get to every part, but with restricted air flow, you could have the indicator turn on.

The bag indicator shows full but the bag is empty

In my bag vac, I have found that when the light shows the bag is full when its not that there is something between where it sucks into the vac to where it empties into the bag...maybe cat hair, dog hair....etc. Try removing the bag and running it, this may allow the air to flow alittle faster and force out the jam. You may also try removing the bottom of the vac, usually just a few screws, and checking to see if you can see the jam. What is happening is this jam is slowing down the air flow and the vac thinks the bag is full....also check the filter where the air leaves the bag area...also look where the bag connects, sometimes trash can hang there.....good luck

You ether have an air restriction, or your bypass valve is broken. If it is an air restriction: The motor requires more air flow to stay cool, the noise you hear is an emergency air inlet made to prevent overheating. You may need to use the hepa bag to help increase the air flow. Some hose attachments will cause this to happen, your performance indicator light (if you have one) should also be illuminated if it is an air flow issue. Check your hose for a blockage.

Kirby Sentria doesn't pick up visible dirt

As far as picking up - I suspect that your belt is not properly installed. Watch the video manual HERE. in the first halve of the video there is an instruction how to properly instal nozzle.

You have to turn the bag about 30-40 degrees countercloclwise so plastic protrusions on the tube top adater (ones that keep bag attached to the tube) will allign with cuts in bag cardbort so you can pull the bag off the adapter. If you will take a look at the new bag - you will see what I am talking about.

This is a generation 4 tech drive it doesn't pick up well at all please help!!!!

These machines are virtuall impossible to block,
If the motor is running, ie you can hear it and the front brush roll is rotating, indicated by the green LED (light) on the left hand side then I would suggest the problem is with the bag or fan, Check the bag, take the inner bag out completely and turn the machine on, you should get good air flow out of the hose connection where the bag attached. if it is ok try a new bag.
Note the type of bag makes a big difference use only kirby bags, not cheap copies from the market.
If poor air flow, Large debris is captured at the bottom of the outer bag assembly, check this is clear by removing the outer bag, undo the clip at the top, twist at the bottom to detach from the vacuum, check inside for debris or blockage.
If it is not the bag check the condition of the fan, remove the front brush assembly and inspect the fan, usually a good indicator of a damaged fan is excessive noise.
