Try a different channel on your TV Some times it may be AV1 or AV2 on the TV that you have to connect to. The DVD should also show a "start up" screen on the TV to show you that it has connected properly.

Testimonial: "I cant believe it. I knew connecting a dvd player was easy and simple but I couldn't work out why was not working my tv back was facing the wall I shoulda had a good look. Thankyou mate"

Hi Ryan, with only 3 wires to connect , it should be easy, 1 will be the video and the other 2 are for left and right audio. Check the connections on the TV that they are actually in the INPUT side. I felt like a dill after connecting my DVD up. I could get sound and no picture because I didnt look closely at the connections. The video was hooked into the OUTPUT side of the TV lol

The easiest thing to do would be get a new TV plain and simple sounds as if you could use one n e ways. But first make sure you are hooked up through coaxal to the tv that will allow everything to run on channel 3. Let me know your current hookup.

For DENON DVD-3930: In "setup", HDMI sound settings have to be "2-channel". Then SACD 5-channel output is enabled.

SOURCE: DVD player only plays DVD in black and white - what's wrong?

Ok,
I'm not sure what you mean by digibox. Under what conditions are you able to see things in color? Is a digibox a seperate device you can get to work with the same connection as your player? If one device displays color on the same connection and another doesn't then that seems to rule out the television being the problem. Can you clarify a little more?

I SUGGEST YOU USE AV CABLES( RCA ) AN CONNECT TO THE AV INPUT OF THE TV

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

Have inherited RCA television with AV input on back, but remote and using buttons on TV allow only channels 4 and 7 to be be seen. How do you make televsion recognize AV input from back? RCA model F20600...

Bring up your video menu, make sure the cable/antenna mode is set correctly. Also do channel search/ auto program. If your AV is operating a DVD player etc., there should be a button to switch from TV to AV. If you are trying to input Cable/Antenna to AV jack you may have it plugged into wrong jack, it should go into 'antenna/cable in' jack. Hope this helps.

Tv works great, dvd is new , cant figure out the right hook up , dvd has 3 cables white yellow red

Red = right sound channel, white = left sound channel and yellow = video (picture) channel. if you have the connections matching these on the tv, then there should be an AV channel on the remote/tv control panel. Select this channel to view, if more than one AV channel on the tv, there will be a number next to the sockets you plugged into. Select the AV number and away you go.
If your tv doesn't have the correct sockets you can buy a converter to use the ariel socket on the tv.

My DVD Player wont play on my tv dont know which is right channel

If you are using a scart lead then you need to set your t.v. to AV or EXT. Plug your dvd in, turn it on and using your tv controls, press av or ext until it picks up your dvd. Sometimes you may only need to press the av/ext button once sometimes 2 or three times, depending how many outlets you have on your tv and which one you have you dvd plugged into.

hope this helps

if your DVD player supports a HDMI cable a single cable is enough for both audio and video channel.

but both your player and TV must support HDMI.

Unable to locat and select the AV channel on new LCD HD TV

Hi, try switching your tv to channel 3 or 4 and see if that works- there should be a switch on the back of your DVD player beside the Coaxial Cable outputs-it will allow you to use Channel 3 or 4 as the default to play dvd's. I hope that helps-if more detail or wiring diagram is needed-please leave make and model numbers and i'll try to help.
Cheers and have a Happy Holiday Season!
