Check your centre speaker is working. Most speech is through that one.

I suggest you try changing the sound modes to see if it improves the speech. Some TV have speech settings that will boost voices.

How to start a speech about being a different person than yesterday

Hi Tasmyn,
A suggestion.
I take it you have to read Cesar Chavez book for the speech.
Pick on a subject you can relate to in the book, e.g. fair wages, or how to use peaceful tactics to further a good cause, then think of how that subject affected you.
Firstly I take it you are nervous about giving the speech, so talking a subject in the book that affected you will make it easier for you.
Maybe you could start by saying...
"What could have a deep and lasting impact on your life? I found that Cesar Chavez has done just that to me. I will describe how he has effected me, and maybe this will have a positive effect on you too...."
I would then describe the subject, and pick on only one point in the subject, e.g. how you are going to use "peaceful tactics" from now on.
Then I would suggest your conclusion will be to summarize what you have described, say that as it has built you up, you hope and think that this approach in the life of each of the listeners will also be of great benefit to them.
If they did not have to read the book, I would also suggest you encourage them to read the book as well.
I hope this helps you.

Although we have no additional speakers hooked up to the TV, I'm often hearing music tracks during commercials as significantly louder than dialog/voice overs. Any advice?

Hi rinkejus.

http://www.hdtvreview.com/pdf/hannspree-hannslounge-32-manual.pdf

This link is the user manual for your tv. If you already have it, don't bother downloading it. Follow page 75 and 76, which describe the audio settings. Play with the equalizer until, hopefully, you find a setting you are happy with. You can also play with the sound effect, as music tends to "broaden" more readily than speech. Also, if you are set on surround, most of the speech will be in the centre channel - which isn't there because it requires an external speaker.

From what you describe, you don't have a fault of any kind, just the features of your tv are having an undesired effect. Good luck. Please vote 4 hands if this was useful.

Sound on wii fit game

I have sound on my TV for normal operation when the FIT is in use and some vibration, sound effects, and comments during certain activities/games. You should hear speech (i.e yoga) or music and sound effects (i.e. balance games) throughout the session. If you hear sounds when your WII is on the channel screen it should work during a WII Fit session. Check the Nintendo Forums or contact Nintendo to see what may be defective.
