Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

Ordered this mobo from ebay to replace mobo in lenovo thinkcentre m52

Problem im having is the power button and leds connect to the front usb/audio panel. the cable that comes from there *which seems to be an old floppy ide cable* has nowhere to plug into this motherboard. i can live without the front ports but i need to have a power button to power the system back on. i can't seem to find any documentation on the motherboard other than aparently they come oem installed in Gateway E-4500D systems. the front panel issue is the only installation issue i have so far. any ideas on maybe a conversion plug.. or where on that motherboard would i have to directly plug the wires to use the power button.

the front panel plug is a 34 pin plug.. the power button and power and hd leds are a 10 pin plug that plugs into the front panels board which is carried to the motherboard through the 34 pin plug.. the intel E210882 D945GPB motherboard has a 32/34 socket in the far corner of the board but the socket is quite a bit larger than the plug coming from the front panel. though without any documentation on this motherboard i dont know if that is what that plug is for in the first place.. the motherboard also has 2 usb sockets.. an audio socket.. and an unlabled 9/10 socket right next to the 32/34 socket on the board. im sure if i knew where exactly the power button and leds actually connected to this motherboard i could workaround the problem

SOURCE: Connecting motherboard ?

Hi,,

ok lets see if i can help you out here
basically IDE 1+2 Is primary and 3+4 is secondary, it doesnt matter where you donnect your harddrive to it will still work ,, the standered is to use 1 and 2

as for the frount usb aint working is cause they are not connected or the wires are mixed up.. basically you can connect the wires to any usb section of the mainboard as long as you connect it propperly.
each wire is labeled and the bord is labelled as well. for example connect ground to ground, v++ to v++, +5 to +5 and -5 to *5 there is a diagram on the manual showing the connection ports location and pin id's it also labebled on the main board.

Have you tried connecting to the internet with a wired connection. It may need to update drivers for your computer. The update option is in the software center I think.

Audio Device

The same model ThinkCentre can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkCentre, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the audio and device drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

Looking for and audio driver for lenovo thinkcentre 8212

Hi edmark701...
Sorry I could not find your free audio driver...but I did find a place here on the net that has the drivers but you have to sign up...suppose to be free...you read the fine print and decide if you want to sign up.
Please take time to rate me

http://www.driversforfree.com/omn_ofm_omd_dt/ibm/thinkcentre-m52/8212/audio-and-sound/drivers.aspx
There is also a free one here too, it will allow you to download two drivers free per day with the free edition...be sure to read the fine print...I use it, its not bad at two free drivers per day.
