Question about Schlage Locks & Locksmithing

1 Answer

I am not the original owner. Where can I locate the program code without the box.

I took the back apart and don't see the program code sticker. Where is it located? What do I do if I cannot locate it at all?

It is part of the front part. (Wow, this is hard to explain in words). It is the lock part on the outside of the door, the part with the number buttons.

Where can I find the keyless entry code for a 2001 ford windstar

The manual says:
The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5-digit entry code; this code is located on the owner's wallet card in the glove box, is marked on the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You can also create your own 5-digit personal entry code.
(someone on the internet says: A sticker that is located on the computer module - this should be located underneath the dash/steering wheel on the driver's side (by the fuze box - bolted to the firewall of the car/van)

Are you the original owner? This number can be reprogrammed, so it may not be the original number. Does the keypad work ok? Did you test to see that lights come on when each of the 5 buttons are pressed?

I just moved into a home with the schlage dead bolt, but the owner forgot the pass code. I unscrewed to back panel to get the code, but there was no sticker there. is there another way to change the code...

The sticker you are looking for should be found on the back of the keypad side, not the battery and manual turnlock side. Without this number, you cannot reprogram the lock:

"How can I program my electronic keypad lock when the instructions with the programming code have been lost?"
The back plate of the keypad side of the lock on the exterior of the door has a sticker which includes the serial number, six digit programming code and two pre-programmed four digit user codes. The lock must be disassembled to a point the exterior of the lock can be pulled away from the door and the information on the sticker made note of.
This number is the programming code referenced in the information for changing the entry code.

This link will take you to the page that you need to get started:

Then scroll down to this heading on that page:

Electronic Security-Keypad Deadbolt BE365

There's a wealth of info under that heading. You will be able to see a PDF file of the original print instructions, as well as a video of how to install the lock. This installation video (second item down) will be useful to allow you to disassemble it and view the sticker. This is also a great time to change the 9-volt battery! Batteries should be replace about every three years.
The seventh item under that same header is a video which walks you through how to reprogram the keypad to your new code, using that programming code that you found on the backside of the keypad.
A note about the PDF files: If you cannot view a given file, you need to first install Adobe reader. You can get the free download from here:

Good luck--and please provide feedback if this helps!

Honda oddyee 2002 we took the batery out to replaced it and the radio willnt work, i dont find the code for the radio.

If you open the glove box, on the outside of it facing the drivers seat there should be a code there. If not, the only code they offered was a small card that had 3 stickers on it that came with the manual. Those three stickers were suppose to be placed in the appropriate spots. If the original owner did this, then the code should be there on the side of the glove box. Thanks.

You can't override/change the keypad code without knowing the original code 1st. Lincoln usually puts the code # on a sticker inside the trunk lid. I've had 3 and all three had the sticker. Open the truck and check just under the lip for the sticker. Apart from getting the code that way, I'm afraid the only other way is to go to the dealer and have them look it up according to the VIN#.

Reset Door Code 2010 F250

Location of Keyless Code on Computer Module of Ford F250 Superduty ( 2009 )

Finding this code seems to be a common problem, so, here is a better answer to save you the time I spent locating the sticker on the computer module that shows the keyless entry code.

One owners from 2008 F150 XLT Superduty tell me and I suspect the location for a F150 would be very near same location as on a F250

The computer module is mounted high on the firewall approximately behind the a/c fan speed control knob. Here is how to find it / get to it:

1. Remove the large cover under the steering column that covers the fuse block. You'll need to reach in under the dash, with your left arm, to the right of the steering column and left of center to move stuff to get a clear view.

2. Open the storage pocket door on the lower edge of the dash (right of the steering column) and squeeze the back side of the storage pocket to allow the stops to pass to the front. This will allow the opening to be clear to see the computer module up in the dash. Shine your flash light through this opening.

3. Move the first piece of white insulation to the side to see the firewall. Look up through the pocket door, moving the wiring harnesses aside if necessary. You'll find a second white insulation wrapped snugly across the computer module. When you push the insulation up to see the flat surface, you see the 5 digit number printed up-side-down in black on a white sticker. This is your keyless entry code.

Instructions for Programming Keyless Entry Code (from the 2008 Owner's Manual)

You can use the keyless entry keypad to lock or unlock the doors without using a key.

The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5–digit entry code; this code is located on the owner’s wallet card in the glove box, is marked on the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You can also create your own 5–digit personal entry code.

When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation.

Programming a personal entry code
To create your own personal entry code:
1. Enter the factory set code. The driver door will unlock.

2. Within five seconds press the 1 • 2 on the keypad.

3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other.

4. The doors will lock then unlock to confirm that your personal keycode has been programmed into the module.

• Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
• Do not use five numbers in sequential order.

Good Luck (remember comment and rated this).

I dont have the code to open the door without my key on my 2004 lincoln vs

The keyless code is by the right rear door panel.
Open the door, remove the panel that's over the the seatbelt. after doing that open but you don't have just kind of stretch out and their you will find a black box or reciever with a sticker and a 5 digit code stamped on it. If you want to change the pass code refer to your manual, but you'll need the original code to be able to change it.

From other users comment about this:
- On i2005 Lincoln LS V8, the code was on a sticker located under the center of the dash (driver side). They laid down on my back with a flash light and looked behind the radio, you will see several stickers with numbers on them. They wrote down all the number from each sticker then tried them , it worked they found the code.
Note: the one sticker that my code was on had several numbers in front of it that i had to eliminate ex: 1003(98501), 98501 was the code for my door. it took me 20 min but it was worth it . The dealer is other choice, but wanted $90.

Hope this help (remember rated and comment this).
