I'm installing a ceiling fan w/lights. The new remote wall module has 2 black wires ("to motor" & "A/C in L"), but the old flip switch has 2 black wires (both on same side, 1 on screw and the other through...

Add a comment with more information:
1) Brand and model number of fan and remote so expert can access product manual. Without product manual, we're guessing. If product manual has a phone number call it.
2) Attach clear in-focus photo of existing switch with all wires for best possible guess.
3) get a tester and find which wire inside the box is hot. Turn off switch and test each black wire to bare ground wire.

The fan doesnt work

and nothing is there a fan motor available.

Did you mean " and nowheres is their a fan motor available"???

THat leaves you with 4 options.
1. prehaps the switch to the fan is not giving the fan any electricity when you turn the switch 'on'
2. prehaps there is a bad wiring connection to the fan and the repair is as simple as fixing the supply wiring.
You need to make sure that the fan is getting electricity before saying ,I have a bad motor. You could have a bad on/off switch or wiring to the switch or to the fan.
if you do have electricity going into the fan motor.
1. disassemble , repair, and reassemble the fan motor. That assumes that you can get repair parts and already know how to fix cieling fan motors or can even find a ceiling fan repairman.
I think cieling fan repair is a decesed industry[the job died because of lack of customers] like tv repair and microwave repaair, dead professions.
Many things from china are made as one shots[if they done work on the first shot, they never will because there are no replacement parts available in the usa. You have to fly to china to buy parts.
2. buy a new cieling fan from

Ceiling fan /light works when it wants

is it the fan and the light or just the light ? if it is just the light you may have a loose wire in ceiling. Or the contacts in fixture are bent . you can fix that really easy by just using a screwdriver. Having trouble taking down the fan have removed the light and the blades cannot get the motor assembly down

Don't know which brand ceiling fab you have, but almost all mount the same way. You have completed most of what needs to be done. So, now you need to remove the ceiling cowl, that slides up and down on the down rod. There should be 2-3 screws in the top outer edge of the cowl. If you remove those, the cowl will slide down the rod. After that, unscrew the wiring nuts, that connect the fan's wiring to the house wiring. Don't forget to disconnect the copper ground wire, too. Then the ball on the end of the down rod shaft can be lifted out of the ceiling bracket.

Hope this helped you in the removal of the ceiling fan. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hunter fan model 25706 both the lights & fan have stopped working

mcdevito75 here, VeryGood question, very good, here we go, ------ First a re-set for the motor, I really don"t know but if there is it"s on the motor itself, you"d have to un-screw the cover just at the ceiling and let this cover slide down the chain Attached from the ceiling to the fan itself. and check the motor itself for a reset swtch, usually a red bitton. Now!! true, if the fan motor is bad it could affect the lights, here"s how, the wall switch supplies electricity to the fan motor and the pull chain on the motor turns the fan on, from the motor itself to the fan lights another wire also from the fan motor goes to the fan lights, SO!! if the fan motor is no good it won"t allow electricity to go on to the fan lights. Maybe you Fan motor is just stuck, specially if you haven"t used it in a whlie, with the wall swiotch on and fan speed on low try to gently move the fan blades them selves. If not you may have to repalace the fan.

Light Yes, Fan No

Sounds like the capacitor. What brand? Aloha? If it is an Aloha brand fan like sold at WalMart it is a common issue. Just call there 800 number and they will send you a new one. You have to know the exact model number of have the bar code. Usually there is a bar code on top of the motor. Just take it down from the ceiling and look. I called them on Thursday and got a free switch and capacitor on Monday!! My fan is going great again. If you have the old switch check it or just call the fan's customer service!!
Just call 1-800-295-4448. Even the call is free.

Ceiling fan power

It sounds like the fan motor has blown out. Is this an old fan? The motors do burn out every 5-10 years, depending on the brand and quality of motor.
