SOURCE: Washer Not Spinning All Of The Water Out

It's not supposed to. They all keep water in the drum after wash is finished. Was told by Maytag its to keep the balance of the spin cycle, like balancing a tire with lead weights.

Why is the motor roaring ? is it rubing on housing or a bearing ?

It may not be you motor, but the sound of some item caught in the impellar, which is the part that causes suction. It is usually located in the upper housing, and can be accessed fairly easily. Unscrew any visible screws,(usually phillips type) and carefully lift housing off. This should expose the impellar. If debris is present, remove it.
But also check for possibly broken fins on the impellar itself. Sometimes items like coins, or nails etc, will get picked up accidentally, then spin around in the impellar housing, only to break a fin or two trying to move on. If this has happened, replace the impellar.

the pump end should be repairable without taking the motor apart ..normally the long bolts that run through the motor housing can be taken out and the pump end serviced without pulling it all apart..send a photo of the pump..

How do I remove impeller from motor? Is there bolt or does it screw off? It appears head of bolt is sheared off.

The impellar spins off counterclockwise on most pumps. The hard parts are holding the motor shaft from rotating and finding a way to grip the impellar.

How tough is it to change water pump impeller on 15hp johnson

There is no special tricks.Unbolt the gearshift linkage that has access through the side of the leg.Usually a small plate.Unbolt the lower g/box.4 bolts I think. The box should then drop.If not,use a rubber hammer and be patient.Put the lower skeg of the g/box in a vice to make things easier.NOW.When you lift the housing of the w/pump take a note of which way the impellar pump lobes are curled.DON'T put the new impellar in the wrong way. It's probably worth putting in a new seal whilst it's apart. You spin the housing or imp. as you put it together.Use a small bit of grease for the initiall dry start-up.Put some very good grease on the top splines on the driveshaft. It goes straight into the crankshaft. If it corrodes, nothing comes apart. As you put the g/box back on,spin the prop so the splines go back in.There is no special alignment.Gearchange linkage and you go fishing.(take the prop off and regrease the splines on the shaft of it)Hope this helps

Replace water pump impellor 15hp yamaha outboard . how to remove lower leg.

Put the motor in neutral. On the leg of the motor there is a little side cover plate.Remove.Undo the bolts. This is the gear change linkage. At the cavitation plate, there is 4 bolts.Remove.If the lower housing does not drop, give it a soft whack with a soft hammer. When dropped, you will see the prop shaft and the gear linkage.Lower it all the way out.Its easy to work on if you put the lower skeg in a vice.Take the water pump apart BUT!!! have a look at which way the impellar blades are pointed.Grease the new impellar as you put it back in and turn it at the same time to get the nodes in properly.Heaps of grease to protect all the bolts.Makes it easier next time.Hope this helps

Jandy jhp .75 hums when you turn it on does not pump

It sounds as if motor is spinning and pump is free so the impellar must not be attached to the motor shaft. There is a set screw on the impellar to hold it to shaft or the pump impellar could be cracked. Only way to tell is take the impellar housing off.

what kind of motor or pump? Hayward, pac flo?

GE washer won't drain. I think something is clogging it.

On at least 10 occassions, I have had to take the pump apart. This is where the black drain hose connects to behind the back panel. With the panel removed, follow the drain hose to the pump. Remove that hose clamp, and hose and check for resrictions. Then remove the other hose that goes from the bottom of the tub to the pump. generally this is where you will find the problem, or at least part of it. Coins, buttons and other items somehow sneak into this area (how they get here I have no idea) and get stuck in the impellar of the pump. You will see that the hose that comes from the tub has a "collector' at the bottom so things don't end up in the impellar, but they do. Then reach your finger in the hole to the pump impellar and make sure it turns freely. If it does, reassemble. If not, remove the 2 wires from the pump (making sure to mark which wire came off where) and twist the pump a half a turn until it comes off the locating slots. Now that the pump is in your hand, you get a closer visual inspection. One time I had debris lodged in there so deeply I had to take the pump casing off, which is simple....3 screws to get the stuff out. When reassembling, make sure not to damage the o-ring on the pump housing, or torque the screws too tightly. Pay attention to how tight they seem when you remove them. Then reassemble all of that. I have had to perform this operation too numerous times to count, and I can tell you this: Once you loosen the hose clamps and remove the hose, I have found no graceful way to catch all the water that rushes out all at once. Luckily I am on a concrete floor with a drain, so just let it go. If you are in a more 'finished' type laundry room you might want to scope out some water catching ideas.....or at least have a mop and some towels handy :) Good Luck!

you can take the pump apart by removing the 3 screws that hold it together. take it apart to make sure there nothing in it that could be blocking the impellar. if theres nothing in there, replace the pump
