There are several possible reasons for this:

1. The machine needs cleaning / oiling. This can happen if you haven't used it for a while or if it's new, the oil dries up Follow the instructions in your owner's manual to see how to do it. Be sure to clean the bobbin area, as a bit of thread, lint or whatever down there can really bollox up a machine.
2. The needle is dull, incorrect for the application or not inserted properly. Change needles regularly, be sure to insert it with the flat side toward the back (most machines), and push it in all the way before tightening the screw that holds it in pretty tight (I usually do about a 1/4 turn with a screwdriver after finger tightening).
3. Be sure that you're properly threaded. Missing any of the guides on the front of the machine can cause this issue.
4. Check your tension and your tensioning disks (to be sure there are no stray bits of thread in them). If you haven't adjusted tension before, it would be a good idea to check your owner's manual and even to have a friend with more experience show you the first time. It is a bit tricky. There is, though a thing called a 'tension king' (a little plastic thingy) that can help if you can find one.
5. If none of this works, take it to the shop because it's probably the timing and that needs a professional to adjust.

Thread keeps breaking, can't seem to get the

1. Maybe you are using the wrong size machine needle or poor quality thread.
2. You must always lift the presser foot before threading the machine to release the tension discs.
3. Maybe you have broken thread stuck in the discs or bobbin race. Give them a clean. Pull a thicker thread by hand through the tension discs when the presser foot is up.

The thread keeps breaking, I can't seem to get the right tention, so i need help. thank you

Hello! It sound to me like your needle is dull or old. Old needles get sharpened by the miles of thread that is fed through them and as the needle reverse in direction and begins to head back up it will actually cut the thread instead of allowing it to slide through. If you change the needle and the problem persists you may have a timing issue.

Good Luck!

Model vx710 upper tread keeps breaking adjusted both tentions

If the timing is a bit off this could also be causing the thread to break. lf you've had a good attempt at getting the two tensions right and not having any joy, then it could be timing is just out a little.

I'm assuming that its good quality thread and same top and bottom and that you've checked the thread paths for any places where it could be catching/jamming etc already.

If machine has been at least 2 years since a service then might be time to take it for one.

Threading and thread breaks

The shudder bothers me!!
Would suggest take it back before you start messing with it or letting a sewing machine tech near it. Last thing you want to do is run the risk of voiding the warranty.
Best of luck
